mini 0803 VS mini 0801

sorry someone mistake type the DRIVER NUMBER on mini 0801 to be HEG which should be MEG; maybe the 1.5inch TFT is too small for him/her.
and, please fogive my dirty windshield which effect a lot in night view.
it is cloudy today here in Shenzhen.

Frankly I would expect a similar difference if this was the same sensor except for the second camera having the maximum auto-ISO level set higher.

per my information, the factories of the "fake" 0801 haven't developed a Amba A7 version.
The "fake" mini 0801s on market:
1, NT96220 chip 720P version without GPS (mass produced)
2, Ambarella A2 chip 1080P version without GPS (mass produced)
3, Ambarella A2 chip 1080P version with GPS (mass produced)
4, NT96650 chip 1080P version with or without GPS (can be mass produced if order MOQ1000)
5, AIT 8427P chip 1080P version with WiFi (can be mass produced if order MOQ1000)

and potential "fake" mini 0801 in next monthes:
1, Ambarella A7 chip 1296P or 1080P

I think ( hope ) manufacturers of legit 0803 will post here list of trusted re-sellers they supply this model to, so buyers can be sure about product sold on their online stores.

Visually you can't tell

for patent reason, the fake ones must keep at least 6points difference with the original ones so you can easily find out which is original and which is fake.

The ones that are similar but not the same are easy to tell apart, it's the copies that are out there that look the same that are the problem, and they are out there

For average Joe in many cases it is hard to tell difference. There are many techniques from bad re-sellers who sell fake on how to cheat people the way that technically they don't cheat.
Best way is to buy from reputable, confirmed re-seller.

depends on the seller I guess, they do cost more to make but the price @JooVuu for example has them listed for is just consistent with the cost difference between the models, depends where you want to buy from if they follow the same idea or want to charge a premium because it's new, there are some listed on eBay by a Chinese seller but I'd avoid buying right now as they are still not sorted as yet, responsible sellers are holding off until they're sorted correctly

From the photos you attached to your first post, the 0801 looks MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER than the 0803

at that stage the 0801 was delivering better results, I'm not sure why Rayman decided to put the pictures up so early, a lot of work has been done to the firmware since though and the results are much better than previous, still some work to go but big improvements already
