I want to create a new thread on this camera since the thread I previously had is a bit congested. I will be updating photos and videos to this post later on as more videos I record.

Link to the VF300W:

Here's the box it comes in and picture of the camera and firmware.

Checked raw video. Overall it's look good, but it is early to judge. Need sunny day ( preferably city traffic ) and also night videos ( city lights and pitch dark ).
Little graininess can be explained by 12Mbps instead of 15Mbps on most other NT96550 + AR0330, but this can be fixed by firmware update by developer.

I highly doubt I will see any firmware update on this device.. Unless I can use GT300W/LS300W firmwares. I don't know when will I get any night videos, but will probably try to get some city videos in a day or two if I go out.

Here's town driving. Forgot to turn off audio... well, more like it turned itself back on.. I feel like the colors are a bit washed out.

About colours, it looks like a little bit washed out, but maybe it's just cloudy day. Interesting to see how it look in sunny day.
Just a little bit more grain compare to LS300W / GT300W due to 15Mbps vs 12Mbps, - this explains, but difference is not that big.
Overall I can say for 90usd it does a good job, at least on few footages viewed here.
FOr final verdict need to see sunny, city lights, night highway and pitch dark.

I'll upload sunny right now then. I drove for about 2+ hours in sunny/foggy/cloudy condition.

Hey runtohell121,

Firstly, thanks for making this thread. I saw your post in the "Best dashcam $100-$150 range" and decided to pull the trigger and get one myself.

It got shipped from singapore on the 6th of August, and the mailman just dropped it off around an hour ago. I have to go to university now but I'm planning to upload some footage within the next week or so, then we can compare the video qualities and whatnot :p

Sunny day video

edit: from now on, I will post video as a post and update the 2nd post so you guys won't have to go dig through a thread, if this thread gets big.

No problem. Hope the dashcam will be decent and you will like it :)

Anyone know or have an alternative/smaller mount for the dashcam (LS300W/GT300W)? For my Insight, the dashcam hangs real low, below the rearview mirror since the "black" part of the upper windshield isn't mountable/won't stick unlike my other car.

Adhsive mount

I have found other dash camera with GPS which has same body / same bracket that suits ls300w and gt300w, but thanks to low profile design it can be used to mount LS / GT 300 series discretely behind the mirror

Also you may check this topic and view end of the video regarding that bracket:

viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2167

suction mount has promisingly strong hold, as you can see I have mounted on the "dots" of mirror shade and it never fell off yet.

Apparently the "dots" shade area, it doesn't mount for my 2010 Honda Insight. It was able to mount on the "dots" area on my Mazda CX-5 though. Thanks for the link.

I have those from my previous GPS units. Not sure if I want to stick those on the windshield though.

Ok, thats your choice but this is the only quick and easy way I can see to get suction mount good hold on "dots" of rearview mirror sun-shade.
If anybody have other ideas,? Please share.

Night video.. I don't know what I can really say about it... will post dropbox link later since it failed uploading first time :/

First looks OK, but youtube is compressing files, so it is not good place to make a judgement. Yes, dropbox raw file would be good idea.

Need to wait a bit.. Hoping it actually didn't fail the first time and it's just still uploading since it says "1 second" for like 10+ minute already but the bar is moving.
