Obviously i get why you wouldn&#039;t do v2 or whatever because by now its a cheapo $20 model but why hasn&#039;t someone taken the same case and did a proper chipset with new tech by now and setup something respectable for $80. Of the few cams i&#039;ve gotten to test this one has the best profile (decent screen but discreet enough) just bad reliability.]]></content:encoded>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Just purchased my first dash cam, an &#039;Oldshark GS8000L&#039; from a seller called &#039;Oldshark direct&#039;, but fulfilled by Amazon.<br />

Nayway, having issues setting the date correctly. It wont change the month to 01 for january - it just keeps reverting to 09. That is unless I set it to 10, 11 or 12... anything else, it just saves as 09.<br />
<br />
We even tried to trick it by setting the date as 31/12/2016, and the time as 23:59, thinking it would then roll over onto 01/01/2017. It didn&#039;t... what we got was...<br />

I&#039;m well aware it&#039;s not the best, but I didn&#039;t wanna invest tons right away. Anyway, I&#039;m just curious if it&#039;s normal for the screen to turn off after a minute or so while driving. I know GPS system stay on so I find it odd, but I can see how it&#039;d help the cams not be a distraction. <br />

I&#039;m wondering if I need a firmware upgrade for any reason, I have a few things I&#039;d like to change like the screen being on all the time and I was hoping an update might address that.<br />

Of the 4 leftside buttons, the 2nd button turns Display on/off and the 3rd button turns the Mic on/off.  I tried in both record mode (red ball) and standby mode.  If there is a zoom on this camera (as advertised) I cannot find how to use.<br />

On my first GS8000l, the 2nd and 3rd button is zoom in/out (version 20140913-03).<br />
