Yi hacked resolution 2304x1296 30fps 35Mbits

Just ran a test this end with the case on at 1080p 24fps and it's nowhere near as hot as it was before. You may be right, maybe it's the card but I think Ill stick at 1080p :)

I tested a longer run for 5 minutes on bike.. got a warm temp but not as hot as standing still.. might be harmfull to use more than 10 minutes on closed area.. samsung evo..

wonderful script ! I've got the 1296p/30fps/35Mbps video. But when I tried to change the video back to 1080p/30fps, my iPhone5s app will crack down, android app works well.

I think I overdid the bitrate a little bit. For 30fps we don't need that much. If you want to lower bitrate comment out or modify the line in the script

#set bitrate to 35Mb/s
writew 0xC05C28A6 0x420C

to

#set bitrate to 18Mb/s
#writew 0xC05C28A6 0x4190

this will put the bitrate to the default 18Mb/s.

or alternatively modifiy the bitrate value to:

#set bitrate to 25Mb/s
writew 0xC05C28A6 0x41C8

#set bitrate to 30Mb/s
writew 0xC05C28A6 0x41F0

My cam doesn't get very hot. I think it gets hotter on 1080p 60fps. Yesterday I did 5 6 minutes recordings with my quadcopter and it came down not even warm. In the air it gets better cooling. Could be a problem in closed spaces like in hot a car or similar.

how can i change the bitrate for 1080p/60 and 1080p/30 on 1..0.12. Are there any values ?

is it possible to increase framerate in this resolution?
or maybe increase resolution to 2.7k go pro mode? (2716x1524)
thank you

what about increasing framerate in 1080p by autoexec.ash
thank you

Yes.
For 1.0.12 fw

#1080p 60fps 35 Mbit
writew 0xC05C28D6 0x420C

#1080p 60fps 30 Mbit
writew 0xC05C28D6 0x41F0

I'm not sure but probably not.

Thanx for the script! As I can see bitrate is fixed, so it's CBR mode. Do you know what bytes should be changed with writew for ABR/VBR?

I think it's VBR by default, but I don't know how to determine that for sure.

This are the scripts for all three modes CBR/ABR/VBR. I took order of the modes from the custom firmwares in the other thread.

For 1.0.12 fw

#1080p 60fps 35 Mbit CBR
writeb 0xC05C28D0 0x01
writew 0xC05C28D6 0x420C

#1080p 60fps 30 Mbit CBR

#1080p 60fps 30 Mbit ABR

Hi @funnel, Do I "guess" the 1296p right about the code 2? pls inform be return, thanks:

Code 1 for 1080p/60fps
Code:
#1080p 60fps 35 Mbit CBR
writeb 0xC05C28D0 0x01
writew 0xC05C28D6 0x420C
#then XXD0 is compress mode address
#then XXD6 is bitrate address

Code 2 for 1296p/30fps
Code:
#1296p 30fps 35 Mbit CBR
writeb 0xC05C28A0 0x01
writew 0xC05C28A6 0x420C
#then XXA0 is compress mode address
#then XXA6 is bitrate address

Yes, the 0x02 it's the resolution.

these are the other known resolution values I found:

tested again the 30Mbit at 1296p for 8 minutes in car.
And the cam got hot. not real hot, the card wasnt hot at all, but the cam was.
previous test was just the sam on a tripod filming the garden, so no fast movments. and no excessive heat noticed.

Great find! Would it be possible to store more than one of the missing resolutions/bitrates in the autoexec.ash and switch to them in the app?

Code:
#buzzer on on boot means autoexec.ash executed
#set buzzer volume 1-150
t pwm 1 set_level 30
t pwm 1 enable
sleep 2
t pwm 1 disable
#begin
#1080p 60fps 35 Mbit
writew 0xC05C28D6 0x420C
#end
#long beep means the commands executed
t pwm 1 enable
sleep 1
t pwm 1 disable
Thats the autoexec i want to use but it wont work. Whats wrong with it?

Nothing wrong. I'm assuming you have fw 1.0.12. If you edited it yourself you have to use Notepad++ and set in the Preferences->New Document->Format->UNIX/OSX, encoding ANSI or it's possible that it'll not work.

Great, works like a charm! I use modified FW 1.0.12 / hardware revision Z221.

Thanx

Yes, I found it, it was the last bitrate in the table. By default is set to 18Mbits.

Code:
#1.0.12 1280x720 120fps 25Mbps
writew 0xC05C3206 0x41C8

#1.0.12 1280x720 120fps 30Mbps
