I just took the A119S v1 for the first drive, its mounted on the back and temp connected to the 12V outlet via the supplied plug and wire ( not hardwired yet ) . While driving I noticed the screen stayed on for a while, perhaps 10 or so mins and not the 1 min I had set it up to in the system menu. The record light was on though so didnt think much of it.

However after I removed the card and inserted into my computer to view recordings, I noticed the whole to the post office was not present, I took a picture of the file date and time stamps for the pros to look at.
Im using a Kingston 64GB card, the camera up front is using a Kingston 128GB for over 6 months with no issues. Same supplier for mem.

The recording starts on time stamp 13.50 then 16 mins later at 14.06 it records as it should from the moment I turned truck back on and left the post office. So nothing from the time I left home to the post office. Except for the 13.50 recording, this is the time I did turn the vehicle on accessory position via the key and then turn back off then on, so perhaps this had something to do with it. However doesnt explain why the screen was on and red led indicating recording while I was driving to the post office, I can see the Viofo via my rear view mirror .

Thanks.

No gps , just setting on 1080p60 and WDR on, all else off inc audio.

Are you referring to the red light on the REC button or the red light on the LCD screen? LCD screen red dot should blink when recording.

Right, I just observed something else. I went into my truck and turned the acc position ON and both cameras turned on as they should, but the back one had the REC button glowing red but no red recording dot blinking. I guess that was the reason it didnt record on my TO the post office. Not sure why the rec button would be lit if its not recording for whatever reason.

Try swapping the cards between cameras.

Yes the rec light , notice the rec button is red but the tft upper left corner shows no red dot blinking.
I tried another Kingston 64gb. Will try the front mem card later., Thanks for the advice.

The REC button is almost always red. If you stop the recording and go into the menu, it still remains red. It's not an indication of whether it's recording or not. If swapping the memory cards doesn't seems to help, try swapping the cameras. Might help eliminated a power source issue.

Sounds like a memory card or power supply issue. If swapping doesn't help re-flash the firmware a second time to 1.2 to flush out a corrupted firmware state.

Also when you swap cards be sure you format them in camera. You don't want mixed files. (Could confuse the recording operation)

Well there you go, who would have of thought that was possible. Sounds like a sort of hardware format 😵

Unbelievable that a REC button always stays lit red even when not recording. Who's bright idea was that ? ;-)

Thanks for the tips and advice. Il try a those. I always format card on device. Learned that from reading on here.

Just curious as to what state would the device have screen stay on but not record?

Sounds like a memory card issue, but you never know.

Just did another 40 min run, seems to be fine. Wont hard wire til satisfied , learned my lesson ( common sense ? LOL ) the last time .

Just did another run 40 mins on vehicle, seems fine. Wont hardwire till satisfied though. I did setup my vehicle to shut down all accessory power as soon as key is turned off. Before it was set for 45 seconds.

Slightly off topic, anyone know a place I can upload videos? Vimeo limits me to 500 meg per week, since I am tight fisted bastard and dont pay for things that I need but merely useless items I splash the cash for LOL.

Tried youtube,but **** bitrate?

Still working fine, second run longer duration, some clips uploaded in heavy rainfall with no wipers obviously ( truck back window tinted install ).

Yeah , it occured again today. Meaning my first leg of journey until I got to the gas station was not recorded. Once vehicle was turned on after filling with gas it started to record as it should.
I will swap the memory card from the front camera A119 for the A119s to see if the problem persists.

do you have a cigarette lighter socket? try to power your rear camera from it.

Thats how it is currently powered , using the supplied usb long power cord connected to the supplied usb cigar plug which is in turn plugged into a stock vehicle switched 12v accessory socket at rear of truck.

Ive been uploading videos to Youtube, while taking out the front camera A119 ( not S version ) mem card I noticed the mem card is same as the one I was using for the rear. Kingston 64GB for the last 6 months no issue. Going to put this one in the back A119S to see if issue still persists or not. Issue being Screen of the A119S remains on but it does not record until intervention or reboot .

A119 1440p rain demo.

Just to confirm you don't use the GPS mount and power is plugged directly into the side of the camera correct
