Original Mobius night recording with 4mm ~ F1.2 lens (!)

I do have a dashcam notebook. My mobii are called M1A, M1D, M1Z, M2A & M2B. I take note of which FW each has installed, plus the mode 1 & 2 settings and any other relevant information such as which lens and SD card I'm using. It's a bit rough, but it's enough to remind me what I changed from one day to the next.

That's good, some people do things of this nature without keeping a record and then wonder why things go banana's and they don't know what they have :D.

I don't have most Mobi here, but I already had 9 cams in total, and I got gready so I bought nr 10, and then it kicked me out the comfort of my bed.... :(

Thank G@d we have a fantastic couch.....:ROFLMAO:

Might as well buy 2 other Mobi, since I'm already in the basket now.... why not combine the punishment and get on with it.... hahahaha

Better the couch than the doghouse. :D:playful:
I nearly ended up in the doghouse last night :( Testing 5 cameras and 6 lenses is taking up WAY more spare time than I have. Apparently there's quite a lot of household jobs to be done.......

And now another camera just arrived in the post this morning

New lenses to try on the Mobius? 8K might be a bit over the top for the Mobius sensor. Perhaps there's something I can try in the GitUp F1.

Thanks for the Link, I'll check things out and see if they will answer questions, 8K isn't over the top if you consider new cameras down the line from now and still want the lens to be usable. The MP count will only get higher as time marches on and new cameras come out.

I sent them an email regarding their lenses. None of which are suitable for dash cameras. f2.8 aperture is way to small for a dash camera. My opinion.

Well, I just tried to order this on AlliExpress and their payment system is requiring upload of a scan of some identification such as my driver license, passport, credit card + bank statement showing address etc... which they are not going to get.
None of the online vendor I've dealt with had ever required such detailed information.

Has anyone been able to source these Treeye F1.2 lens from some other vendor?

Thanks.

Don't give them that, I never had to, and never will. Something smells fishy..... If you have any means of payment they should be satisfied with that.

It does not seem to be OK. Have you checked the origin of the website in question?

It is the correct site, at least the English version of the link from the OP.

I did bit of digging and there were complaints about this very topic on other forum:

I guess I'll not be an Ali customer :(.

I don't recall having to do anything like that when I bought my lenses from Treeye.

I bought from them about a year ago with none of that. Dunno what's going on but nobody needs that kind of info to make a sale and they'll never get it from me either

I encountered nothing like that from either lens vendor I dealt with. I used PayPal for one transaction and a credit card for the other.

You can buy ƒ/1.2 Starlight lenses from Yumiki in various focal lengths as an alternative to TreeEye. I purchased the 6mm ƒ/1.2 (with IR-cut filter) and had a very positive experience. (14 days from ordering to arrival at my mailbox)

I don't think Treeye is the issue. Something about AliPay that is requiring the additional information disclosure "for your protection". For my order I entered my CC info (CC was the only payment option) and submitted, the order went into processing and some flag came up with:

"In order to validate your payment, please follow the instructions below and file an appeal . We will respond to your appeal in about 1-3 working days. Once your card/account information has been validated, you may go shopping on our site."

This is my first purchase through them so it may be new rules that are now being enforced. Since you guys are an existing customers, your accounts are probably already verified. I may try to cancel this order and resubmit with another CC. Still irritating.

Since they are offering an appeal process it sounds as if there may be some issue with your credit card that is flagging the account. I only became an "existing" customer two weeks ago and so far there is no indication that they've instituted a new policy since then.

Could be right. If you've got security limitations in place for the card this can happen, and some banks set limitations automatically. I was using an employers card (with their permission) to buy fuel and it was denied because it was an out-of-state transaction- their new bank did that by default unless you opted out and my employer didn't know it as they had only used the card in-state.

Never give anyone things like you were asked!!!!!! I just ordered something 3 days ago and was not asked for any of those things. (Ordered Nov 30) Whenever asked something like that, back out of the web site and close your browser. You can always go back to the site and reorder if you want, but if someone found a hole in their system and got in on you, you could become a very unhappy shopper! You should also email them and tell them the time it happened, also ask if this is a new policy of their doing. If they say it is a new policy I advise you to tell them to cancel your account and delete all information connected with your account. You don't want sensitive information and pictures on an account you have with anyone like that.

F1.3 is an interesting non-mainstream aperture. Is it a specialist lens?

Well tried again today by canceling my previous order and re-added the item to a fresh carts from the Treeye store. Used the "Other payment" method and entered a different card.
Same thing happened.

"For security reasons this process can not be continued. To make sure your transaction is secure, please provide us with documentation by clicking My Appeal for further verification."

I think it is their policy, as I mentioned before, others have also reported this on another forum I read. This is mentioned in their new FAQ:

I've seen f1.3 but it is not common , just like f1.2, f1.4, f1.6 are not commonly seen either. However even though asking the question why, I have never had a realistic answer are any answer actually from any of the many manufactures that I have emailed. Not talking about the intermediary sellers that everyone contacts on places like AliExpress either! You can ask them any question you want (I've tried). The only thing they will tell you is what you can read for yourself on the lens description page! Those people are of no help whatsoever.

The bewildering thing is the StarLight lenses. They can be had (very few) in f1.2, f1.4 as you know. I don't know/can't find out if they are even made by more then 1 company and then doled out to the resellers in some secret way. Why they are so secretive about the whole thing is a complete mystery to me.
