are you using any discharge protection device in your car installation?
my Blackvue Magic Pro died yesterday - I think it was installed for 2 years or so, connected to Maxi and Mobius1 at the back.
I want to replace it with something else, was looking at this https://www.amazon.com/gp/B07929Y5SZ as it's very minimal and small.
any thoughts?

Edit: that's the product i was looking at https://www.amazon.com/gp/B07929Y5SZ
the forum is changing the Amazon link for some reason, maybe this would work https://amzn.to/2OONdAV

edit2: it's only on Amazon. com (us)

IS Icstation Digital Low Voltage Protector Disconnect Switch Over Discharge Protection Module for 12-36V Lead Acid Lithium Battery

Can you check the link? It doesn't seem to be working

your link it seem are to a high voltage to low voltage transformer, that have no use for a dashcam, unless you have one you want to power from a mains socket in your house.

I've used the Vico-Power Plus for a long time now and it's been faultless. It seems to have gone up in price considerably though. The Multi Safer is another I've used with no problems and if memory serves I think it can handle a larger current which is handy for multi cam setups.

I originally started off with Power Magic Pro but they started to fail so never went back to them.

^^ i think because you're opening amazon. uk , couldn't find it there. it's only on the .com site. that's the product

That's a very interesting product, especially for the money.

As is often the case with Chinese bare board modules like this, such as delay timers and other similar devices, they are MUCH cheaper if you buy direct from China on eBay.

There are many examples, such as this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/352638821436

yea, but currently shipping from China takes at least a month to Israel, and at the moment both of my cameras are without power because of the "Magic" box that stopped working

Yeah, and with the current situation with the Corona virus in China it could take even longer. Sometimes paying more is money well spent.

Anyway, whenever I see a product like this on Amazon I always check eBay and it's ALWAYS much cheaper. Most of the time I don't mind waiting and often it takes only 10 days to two weeks to north eastern USA, depending on the vendor and the shipping method they use.

what do you of think of the board itself as a replacement for the Power Magic? I'm looking into getting it from Banggood as they offer a better shipping service

It's certainly cheap enough at 5 bucks USD to just to go ahead and try it and see what happens. It seems like it could be a great alternative to the Power Magic.

"germs free insurance"? Is that real? If so, what does it cost? What do they do to the package?

Just yesterday I was listening to an interview with a journalist on the radio where they were discussing all the misinformation and rumor that is spreading on the internet about COVID-19. The subject of virus transmission through the mail came up and the advice was not to be concerned about it.

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention) has posted a FAQ for the corona virus which includes the following:

i was kidding:) but in the meantime, i unplugged the Blackvue connector / reconnected and..it started working again..only a couple of hours after i made the order

@tomerrr Let us know how it works for you when it arrives :)
It seems to be great for our purposes due to having a settable time delay for the low voltage to activate and enough current-carrying capacity to run a box full cams :D

Well, IMHO "kidding" about the possibility of a deadly virus being transmitted in packages from China in this instance can only serve to potentially help spread disinformation. I'm not so sure a burgeoning global pandemic is something to make jokes about at this point in time. :(
