Date and Time issues

My unit just will not keep the correct time...it constantly loses or gains 12 hours everyday so it effects date as well.

set your timezone correctly, should be - not + whatever timezone offset you're in

Makes sense...mine is set for +6 for Texas CST

Texas is -6 timezone, that's why it's out by 12 hours

As already kind of explained, the way it works is that you set the camera's time to + or - whatever your local time zone is in relation to UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) also known as Zulu Time (Military Time), Previously this was known as GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) which is in England.

So, at this time of year in Texas you are minus six hours from zero UTC.

This time zone map illustrates exactly how it works. The red lines delineate UTC.
