San disk is your issue more than likely. You cannot leave sd card sticking out as it will click once properly inserted. Like putting micro sd in a cell phone.. has a spring to it

When the sd card is fully inserted the camera will not shut off when the ignition is turned off and to remove the chip you have to pry the chip out of the slot.
