We only have a limited stock and will order more pending on the level of interest. Not everyone will appreciate the added GPS height (hangs a bit lower) or ball socket vs u-bracket mount. We think there is a market for a Panorama with built-in GPS though! We will look into offering more 3rd party mount accessory choices as well. That's it for now expect more details and raw test videos in the very near future!

Thanks, It's nice to see a supplier so quickly catering to our needs.

I cannot see the extra space needed for mounting the GPS unit, being a problem. As most modern cars ( & trucks or vans etc ) have some black dots embedded in the windscreen behind the rear view mirror. Making it essential to ensure that the lens is below them. For my car this means that I still have almostt as much space above the mount as the whole unit takes up.

What interests me more is the Firmware. And it's features & capabilities.

Probably.

BUT the Start Up screen, Code ( GLG380 ) name & Firmware version number & date are different.

yeah there are differences, performance wise it's the same platform with the same capabilities

I thought so. However there's a little saying The devil is in the detail

And coming from an IT background, I know only to well about the minor details creating their own challenges

know where you're coming from, this model is just as capable though, it's not the unloved red headed step child of the range trying to ride off the reputation of a better model, it's more about convenience, built in GPS versus external, external do work better by design but they're not for everyone

thanks. I wasn't trying to suggest or infer that this model was any less capable.

I was actually wondering ( hoping ) if there were any improvements.

there are updated versions in the works if you're looking for something that's a step up from these, I've seen the sample video from the new ones and they're looking very good

thanks, I like that. I'm finding my Panorama II adaquete ( for me ). To the extent that it's whetted my apetite for something better. So that I can justify upgrading the rest of my computer systems;)

Jon, thanks for publishing the review so quickly. Now that you've had more time with it - is there a way to selectively disable the GPS for those times when you don't want your speed recorded?
Also, does it come pre-configured for 12Mbps, and can users selectively change it to 15 or 18 Mbps?

Here are some quick raw samples as promised. (with embedded GPS data of course)

No problem, We are happy to help make the new Panorama G available to the public immediately.

The default bitrate currently is 12Mpbs. 12 is pretty much the sweet spot for quality vs storage length. We are shipping 15Mbps on the Panorama S though.

I made the following requests to the ODM/Developers.

1) bitrate options higher than 12Mbps (can you please create 15/18 firmwares?)

2) ability to turn off the GPS logger via GUI menu for special occasions.

3) MPH/KPH selection for hard coded OSD.

The evolution of RoadCam/RoadView/PowerUCC is non-stop. (more good things to come in 2014)

Roadcam, Any updates for when we will get higher bitrate options for the G model?

hi, what up with your web site?

Hello, sorry for the transition delay. the new pier28.com e-commerce shopping site will be ready in several days. (powered by Magento) Until then the Panorama G is available via eBay or Amazon. (PANOGDVR)
You can expect the same great over the top customer service and support since it's the same team. (Jon here)

Roadcam, Any updates for when we will get higher bitrate options for the G model?

I'll ask as soon as the new Panorama X2 is launched. All over seas development resources are being used to launch the new dual channel product for the next few weeks.
