I have 2 LK7900s and 1 LK9700. The 7900s have no problem acquiring very quickly, but the 9700 can take up to 20 minutes to acquire, often missing entire drives. I find it takes particularly long if it was parked indoors as if it gets badly confused by the lack of signal present on boot.

Is it possible to use an LK-9700 type D (with OBDII) as a type B (without OBDII)? Is the firmware interchangeable? My car, a Subaru, is not compatible with the OBD II functionality. As a result, the camera has a warning that OBD is not connected, and then goes into parking mode. It won't read...

I picked up a short piece of high quality double-sided tape from the local auto-glass place -- the stuff they use to hold the rear-view mirror on. As long as your mirror stays on, your camera will too. It's also a neutral colour so the camera is much less visible from outside.

Has anyone tried an LK-9700 type D with any Subaru? That manufacturer is not listed at all on Lukas's list.

Depends how it's wired, but I take your point. It seems silly to add a 4th and 5th camera to a car that comes with three from the factory (2 for eyesight, 1 for reverse) rather than recording the ones that are already there... think about it -- Subarus could be programmed to make 3D dashcam...

Has anyone experimented with tapping a Subaru EyeSight system's video to record to use the existing cameras as a dashcam?

Take a look at it at 1080i. It's very pixelised and seems to be a software problem. I've left my cameras at AC23 and they have issues there, but the focus is a lot better. AC31 was stable and has few issues, but I couldn't read a license plate without touching the vehicle's bumper in perfect...

Sorry for the delay in this -- I finally had a chance to attempt the downgrade from AC31 to AC29. I was not able to downgrade either camera to AC29, nor to AC27, the only other firmware versions I had handy. No matter what I tried it spent hours in "UPdA" mode flashing the four dots every 20...
