    Most Important Elements in DVR

Compete on the concept level. So far no one produced a decent price/performance unit with remote cams to keep dvr in the glove box/center console etc. Give it BT or WiFi for upstreaming/positioning and you'll have something unique.

Introduction of DIMIKA Action Camera (with raw video sample)

Does the camera have any video out via USB to assist with pointing from under windshield or to work as a webcam? Any other video outs/ins?

Any opinions on this HDVR-150 Dash Cam?

That might be an interesting alternative (at least on paper) http://www.iro-electronics.com/en/productshow.php?id=70 A2S60 + OV2710, but who knows what lens and firmware quality.

    Rearview X888AV Dual Camera DVR.

I had some experience with a similar Rearview viewtopic.php?f=9&t=880 didn't like it much. Bad video quality and lcd is too dim to use for rear parking during the day.

Smallest Ambarella Car DVR a.k.a. Mini 0801

Re: Smallest Ambarella Car DVR A2S60 is the latest and greatest now? I wonder how good the lens and sensor are. >> - big CMOS sensor 1.25" (I am not sure if true) 1/2.5 more likely, which is a standard P&S sensor size (still much better then 1/4")

Mirror mounted HDVR-150 vs chinese stuff

HDVR-150 has solved left/right problem by protruding camera element forward close enough to the windshield, so it can look on both sides without interference. In my car (Audi A4) no mirror can be too big, the visors close before the mirror surface plane. ;) Addition of rear cam, which can be...

Mirror mounted HDVR-150 vs chinese stuff

Quick review of my recent purchase of HDVR-150 from Amazon: and a chepo Mirror mounted double cam DVR from ebay (china) The short story - very cool mounting idea, but very bad video quality on both of them. The longer comparison: Fit and finish: a tie. HDVR has nicer and more solid feel...

    What is good enough?

In comparison with insurance premiums I pay anything in under $300 range seems to be an ok price. So far I have my eyes on HDVR-150 as the most discrete solution with the best image quality. I wish it was more expensive, but auto-dimming with better lens, bigger sensor and second rear cam.. but...

    What is good enough?

After reading dashcam forum and other blog posts I'm still not convinced if I should buy an expensive camera. From the perspective of being in North America the main goal is to avoid points from car insurance or get accused by someone who backed up into you from red light. Also police is in...
