I haven't read all the posts, but has anyone mentioned that some 3D movie glasses are circularly polarized, whereas sunglasses are linearly polarized. I thought that the movie glasses would not work that well.

My DVR207 sometimes does not respond when first powered up. The screen is blank, but is a gray shade, so it's powered up. Only removing the battery and re-inserting it will clear the problem and allow the cam to boot and function. The battery drops in easily with only gravity needed to seat it...

Good suggestion, but only if one lives near the poles. Most hot glues will soften when exposed to temps encountered inside vehicles. A nice silicone based adhesive would by my choice.

It should work well through the tinted area with the Exposure Value increased a bit to compensate. However, night recording (already not that great) will be worse as fewer photons will get through the tinted area, making for a grainier, noisier video.

If the seller won't replace the camera, then you won't have to worry about voiding any warranty by opening it up to see what kind of battery you need. I've read that genuine units have a removable battery (Nokia BL-4c) and fakes do not. There are many dashcams that use the same generic body...

Does this displease you? There's no question in your post. If I had this problem I would swap the battery, clean the battery contacts, open the unit for loose wires going to the battery, or exchange the camera.

I got it from the DVR207 seller. The original plug was straight, the replacement lighter plug was banana shaped with a ferrite cylinder about 4 inches from the camera plug. It also did not work until I resoldered the loose negative wire from the plug's board to the plug's negative spring clip.
