With the GoPro announcing the lower cost GoPro at £100 - has anyone used it as the dashcam? What was your setup? (i.e. how do you get it to power on when turning on engine, etc) I am aware it's not out in the UK yet but it's released elsewhere and am hoping someone here have it set up. :)

Thanks, while I am aware you've said "no problem" but what is it in "legal status"? Is it OK or illegal? That's my question that I can't find the answer to... Main reason why I ask was - let's assume I got stopped, I want to know where I stand in regarding to dashcam system, Cheers for the reply,

Did you know there will be a new law in the UK where you're not supposed to drive on 2nd/3rd/4th lane for at least 1/2 mile or more when the 1st lane is empty? If not, then you will need to change your driving style to reflect it (unless there is an junction coming up in less than half mile).

While not an "true" dashcam system, Sony has made one for action camera - Sony AS15 http://www.sony.co.uk/product/cam-action-cam/hdr-as15 So if they can make it, I'm sure they will make one for dashcam when the market is stronger.

Hi all, In 3 months time, we will be driving from the UK to Europe and my car is fitted with a dashcam setup. From reading around - France is fine. Luxembourg is no no. Not sure about Switzerland & Italy. Does anyone know? Thanks!
