UK Blackvue DR650S-2CH + hardwire battery saver. FAULTY. UK ONLY

Just a quick note to say, I’m selling my old Blackvue. It’s faulty (reboots, doesn’t record) It’s on eBay but would listen to offers here:

    Fake Thinkware U1000?

Ahh that’s a shame - I liked the original cylinder cams my first dashcam has a page on this very site… https://dashcamtalk.com/itronics-itb-100hd/ Up until 3 days ago, I still used the itronics battery saver - itv-80 I think with my blackvue!

    Dead blackvue… what next?

To be honest, and you will all probably say "why have you spent £400 on a camera then" - all I really need is damn good video quality for IF an event occurs. I don't want to sound like a know-it-all arse, but I've had dashcams for years and years and I'm beyond the whole "must post to facebook"...

    Fake Thinkware U1000?

I only saw this post today, mainly because I've bought a U1000 - but I also had a Itronics camera and have to completely agree - they were different class. Mine died after years and years of service, and having saved an insurance claim against a liar HGV that hit me on a motorway. Even after...

    Dead blackvue… what next?

So realistically we end up at personal preference between the 2. I may therefore try 4K and see which I prefer. The Quad 60fps is running at around 200meg per 1 minute file (currently only 1ch), and I find that quite manageable. Thanks for your help!

    Dead blackvue… what next?

That's a fair point - true. I've always considered FPS a priority over resolutions - aware we are probably out of scope of this thread, but has anyone put any research into it? I'd have gone for a non-4k camera to be honest, but I wanted the better video quality of Thinkware over Blackvue, and...

    Dead blackvue… what next?

I actually went for a Thinkware U1000 (1ch) for a very low price from amazon warehouse, which turned up in mint condition. I'm in the process of adding the rear camera this week (it's on order). I'm not running it at 4k - but at Quad 60fps instead. Does anyone know if a 4k camera running at a...

    Dead blackvue… what next?

I’ve had a dr650s for a good few years but it seems dead (done the usual with cards, seems to be best dependant but just freezes and restarts at random.. no message other than the startup messages). what do I go for? Thinkware or blackvue seem best for cloud. I like cloud but don’t need it - I...

    The 522GW is really good....

Hi Spuds, I'm not gonna go too crazy yet - but I'm pretty sure from past experience (with other brands) that the focus issue is a hardware fault :( The question is... do I try again or not.

    The 522GW is really good....

I'm starting to regret starting this thread.... SOS does keep disconnecting at random, and worse sometimes the red warning screen crashes the camera and can't be removed. and All footage is seemingly out of focus? I assume it's actually a defective unit because theres no way this would be...

    The 522GW is really good....

Found my first potential bug (ish).... if parking mode isn't on, and the camera is connected to a hard wire kit with battery saver (a viofo one), the camera stays on but annoyingly puts a big red display on brightly saying SOS isn't connected. I know it isn't - my phone is in the house :D...

    The 522GW is really good....

Not yet. Not a massive fan of parking modes - but will try and test it. Why is it protecting - due to G sensor of you opening the door/getting in? I'll try it soon - weather not good enough here for dashcam fitting though!! So far all I've done is use the suction mount to trial it. I think...

    The 522GW is really good....

Just thought I'd post something positive. Weirdly despite the poor reviews here I decided to purchase anyway - expecting the worst. To note: I have multiple Alexa devices, home automation products and had the app installed already, logged in etc. I installed the MyNextbase app, connected to...

    612GW

Hmm to be fair, they look similar to mine really. For example randomly picked a file, and the road signs are not clear even within the central area of the lens. I think this is down to excessive noise which is making things look out of focus. The 4k is lovely, but certainly at night the image...

    612GW

I can, but not til later, and I'm still planning on messing with it further yet. The toshiba card is problematic too btw, although it seems to record fine without input, after I did the firmware upgrade, the camera wouldn't accept the card, and it wouldn't format on a windows PC either! May...
