Mounting Suction mount to "dimpled / dotted" area of wind-shield by using CAP from "Pringles"

The main thing would be for manufacturers to change their cup material. There is one that cobra and escort radar detectors use. It's very tacky on the back and will stick to anything including your dash without needing a dash pad. Works great and when ran underwater is gets slick you can clean it and once dry it becomes tacky again. It's called sticky cup https://www.escortradar.com/Mobile/ProductDetails.php?PID=16338

This DIY Pringles idea is pretty cool but if you want something all black with adhesive pad ready to go just Google, eBay, Amazon search for :

Or
Suction Cup Disk

I got this disk with an old satnav. Works great. I still have the protective plastic on it. I will use it when my can arrives. I have one in my wifes car, when I installed it, I left it for 24hrs to bond.
I was searching for this thread and remembered that I had one like these. But, it is a spare, because I had a idea: Put a few water in the suction mount in a area in windshield (not in dot area). I have another suction mount for smartphone and it is pretty good on glass (more than six months and it's still there).
