I'm using one of these piggyback fuse taps http://www.ebay.com/bhp/fuse-tap in my 2014 Mazda 6. I have two problems with it. It feels looser than the other fuses and can get knocked out pretty easily, and it the tap is a little too tall and causes the kick panel to not seat properly.

I just have the panel removed right now so I don't kick it off when I'm entering and leaving the car, but it would be nice to have it fit. Any shorter taps? If I can't figure anything out, I might just grind a little bit off the tap and see if I get enough clearance there.

Ended up just removing the fuse tap entirely and wiring it to an existing 15A fuse for the cigarette charging port. Figure the dashcam plus charging phones won't overload that.

edit: Some rough math:

The dashcam draws 0.4A at 5V. My phone charger draws 3A at 5V (1A and 2A port for 2 phones). That adds up to (0.4 * 5 + 3 * 5) = 17W of power. The fuse is for 7.5A 12V, so I'm drawing (17W / 12V) = 1.4A against a 15A fuse.
