I just picked up a thinkware f50 for parking mode only use. The camera will be mounted in the rear aimed inside my car so i can see out the front and side windows.

I really only care about recording when im not in the car via parking mode.

a 5v power bank is a no go since the thinkware f50 is 12v. I would just use my battery with the cutoff feature but here in MN it gets very cold in the winter and im not a fan of my battery getting pulled down to 12.something volts.

So what can i use for a battery bank? Like i said, i just want the pre buffered parking mode.

I need to be able to charge the battery while driving. If the 12v output gets cutoff when charging, thats fine as i only care about parking mode, but it needs to turn back on when i turn off the car.

What are my options?

Im leaning towards this:

FEMALE car charger socket to wires:

Digital Step Up Converter (maintains voltage as battery pack drains):

The thinkware f50 has really great features, the video quality is not $99 but the features it has puts it easily worth it.

Im talking, parking guard settings for gshock sensitivity, voltage cutoff, partitioning card options and my favorite timer turn off for parking guard for 6, 12, 24, 48 hrs.

Anyway, hope this helps.

Hi,

I am considering a very similar setup with the F50 only interested in parking mode.
I think using the Celllink B battery pack but my question is if you have used the hardwire kit for the parking mode to work?
I mean that what if you give power constantly will it go to parking mode automatically when the car is stopped for some time for example?

Thanks in advance!!

The hardwire kit has to be wired correctly for parking mode to work, there has to be a constant wired and an accessory wired. When it detects that accessory no longer has power, it then goes into parking mode by using constant power.

Thanks very much for the quick reply.
I want to avoid connecting anything to the car other than the socket of the battery pack to the lighter.
Do you think that parking mode will work if I connect the parking mode activator wires to the battery pack?

Thank you!

I connected my constant to the battery and my ac to car accessory.

Great I'll do the same config and hope it works!

Thank you very much for the instant help.
