Only in recent month I have reviewed the video footage from my SG9665GC V2 and I have noticed at times especially on a bright sunny day, the image tends to be very soft and cannot focus on cars at moderate distance in front of me.
This is a sample of my drive home from work yesterday late afternoon. As the grey Mazda starting to pull away from me from 20 seconds it starts to lose focus. This cam was running on older firmware version SG20160111.V2: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwaIgQZ9qvzfcXNlRVhJWUtZN00
This afternoon I shot and cut a few 5-second video samples from it, as well as after I have updated the firmware to latest SG20161128.V3, and compared to my other dash cam A118C.

My general observation is A118C has sharper images than the SG9665GC (in both versions of firmware), I suspect Viofo increase the built-in sharpening of the image sensor in A118C, which can also increase the image noise. The brightness of my A118C is higher which is obviously due to me setting the contrast to +2/3, while the SG9665GC is set at default 0. In the end I am not too happy with the softness of my SG9665GC in bright sunny days. Its image however improves in sharpness during cloudy days and at night. I am wondering do I need to get the lens of my SG9665GC adjusted? Any suggestion is welcome.
