Dashcam footage together with radio communications (EN subtitled) of a special medical transport with Police escort. A patient is transported from HMC Westeinde hospital in The Hague, to the UMCL hospital in Leiden (The Netherlands).

It's a "Glijdend transport" which can be translated as a "sliding" or "fluent", meaning that one of the main goals of the transport is to be with the least amount of unneeded movement and deceleration (or acceleration). In other words: comfort and safety for the patient has a higher priority than speed in this particular situation.

The escort consists of 4 Police officers (usually it's only 3, not sure why 4 on this occasion) on motorbikes. One of them is the commander, which will drive right in front of the ambulance while being in constant radio communications with the other officers which are called "Spitsers". "Spits" = rush hour.

The ambulance driver will listen to the radio communications and follow the commander. The commander also uses gestures to indicate specifics such as bumps in the road and changing of lanes.
