Power Disconnected, Wifi On?

Made a startling discovery, I thought my power management device was faulty but despite the camera shut down and the power cable out my phone was able to connect to the cameras wifi and it was still recording!!

No visible LEDs running but how is this possible? Capacitor?

capacitor will only hold enough charge for the camera to run for about 30 seconds max

Did you unplug the cable from the camera end? That should trigger the shutdown/end of the recording.
Wouldn't really be possible as @jokiin mentioned, the capacitor is not all that powerful
