Hi
Dashcam noob here.
Yi is my first dashcam.
I read the manual, which doesn't say much.

In an accident, what is the first thing I should do, to make sure footage is stored safely and not overwritten?
pull the plug? remove SD card?
What does "emergency recording" button do?
What is "loop recording"? vs not loop recording?

Thank you!

Let me try to explain: In case of an accident your G-sensor shoul trigger-activate and save your video file from overwriting.
Emergency button when triggered-pushed saves few seconds before you pushed the button and few seconds after and locks-saves your file from overwriting.
Loop recording is recording in loop....which means when dashcam working-recording and fill up your sd card to the end starts from the beginning and records over and over again. Example: If you have a 32GB sd card in your Yi and you are recording in 1920x1080 30FPS when you want to find some previously recorded video you can video from 3h 30 minutes or maybe 3h 45minutes ago. If you have 64GB sd card running in your Yi dashcam you can find the recorded videos from double time before than with 32 GB sd card.
