I think the side latch knob on the gitup case looks better than the flip-top gopro cases, honestly.
Better??? You must be kidding! The GitUp underwater housing is simply NO underwater. This knob broke after only 10-15 times in sea and YES I rinsed well and I even apply light silicone oil on the rubber ring.

P.S. The camera is really great and is worth every penny - if there's a sure way to get a box that won't rust I'll have no problem just buying it (without asking for a warranty replacement/repair). Got my camera from Gearbest.

Speaking of how great this camera is I can ensure that the only good thing is the SUPERB video quality and stabilizer; still I would much prefer my iPhone 6S Plus for that.
Why?
I wanted an action cam and bought Git2 for 120 euros ONLY to realize that even 70 euro cams (e.g. Elephone REXSO Explorer Dual 4K):

* don’t have corrosion problems in the housing that eventually break the secure mechanism,
* Do have a BACK BUTTON so you can easily navigate in the videos and menus,
* DON'T LOOSE DATE AND HOUR when you take off the battery or you run out of battery
* and YES they DO have in-camera playback SOUND too (and sound on TV when connected).
* DO use a universal MICRO USB and not the (ANCIENT) MINI USB that you always need to remember to carry with you.
* Don't have a record button that in many cases stop working after some time.

After reading and realizing the above do you still believe Git2 is great???
If GitUp makes you pay 200 euros to be able to use the camera underwater, then I would be crazy not to buy a used GoPro 4 instead!!!

A micro USB does not have enough pins to make an adequate output connector. The mini USB of the Git2 has 10 pins, with every pin used for a certain purpose. This is not possible with micro USB (except the wide version of the plug).
And with mini USB, you are still able to solder your own special adapter cables, if needed. With the tiny micro USB this is impossible.
That's why.

For such issue, please contact us to get a improved version.

This must be a supplier/manufacturer defect or change in materials. Hopefully they've switched to something better.

I've had my git2 since February 2016, and its been submerged in both freshwater and saltwater, and so far I haven't seen any hints of corrosion. Recently in September, my git2 was underwater in the Mediterranean sea for over 30 minutes approximately 3-4 meters deep, and even after all that the case and components were fine!
