Just wonder how about the light condition around?

Is that moonlight?

I know that it has a Starvis sensor so might expected to be able to see using the light from the stars, but it is a dashcam designed to work with headlights, you will not get great quality without headlights.

What log files you get will depend on which firmware is installed, you might want to update the firmware if it is not the current release version.

That is about what I get with other IMX 322/323 cams in extremely low lighting. Lesser sensors would show little or nothing but blackness in those conditions ;)

Phil

Thank you Connie for you help and supports ,Conkim realy show me the supports and help and Connie sent me the new software.

Is night video really grainy? Are there recommended settings to get rid of the graininess?Screenshot_20180108-000140.pngScreenshot_20180107-235908.png

I also noticed that radio reception degrades when connecting the rear camera. My radio antenna is printed on the upper part of the rear glass and when the rear cam connector is near the area (no choice since my car is a sedan so wire have to be tucked inside the headliner), that is when the signal deteriorates. I wrapped the connection with aliminum foil and the. Wrapped some fleece tape to secure it. It helped a little but there is still degradation on the radio reception. Is there a workaround to this?

Firmware version is 20171121V1 as I got it last week. This is a Blueskysea unit.

maybe you can try the magnet filter for cables

@jokiin ,it been fully seated in the mount and mount not loose , roads are smooth too! any other reasons.
Thank you,

something you'll need to have a close look at I guess, the sound is a vibration, if it was only the noise I'd say something internally was loose but the camera is also moving so something is loose somewhere, a little bit of movement at the mount is a lot bigger at the lens

Thanks Rayman. That magnet would be a little difficult to get into the vehicle headliner though.
The aluminum wrapping on the rear cam connector improved the FM signal reception though that after a few days of driving, it concluded that it is now acceptable.

However, for the front cam night video graininess, is there anything I can do with this? The screen caps were taken with headlights on. Is there any settings recommendation for auto exposure metering modes, exposure compensation, etc? I believe the cam setting was "average" for auto expsure metering" and "0" exposure compensation. White balance is on "Auto". I have the CPL filter installed too. Daytime video has no problem.

what does it look like at night without the CPL filter

I removed the CPL yesterday but wasn't able to drive at night.

I'll check if I still have a previous night video saved where I took off the CPL in the middle of the video.

@SOB2130 is your cpl filter on correctly? It looks like it is not seated all the way in your video (you can see the filter ring on the right side of your video). That might be attributing to your vibration.

probably should think about cleaning your windows
Yeah, window is a bit dirty at that time and some smudges show when there are street lights just above the windscreen.
However, the video noise when the head light is the predominant light source is there, less without cpl i noticed.
Do cleanliness of the window have an effect during these headlamp only situation?
Will have a drive later tonight without cpl and will make sure the windscreen is clean then review the videos.
