Hey all - just picked up a DR550GW-2CH this past week and thought I'd share my work on the camera.
Since the 650 has already redesigned the door to allow it to open without removing the rear camera cable, I decided to take my Dremel to mine and see if I could do something similar. I also know you could just remove the cover completely, but I prefer the look of it. Power cable, of course, still has to come out (don't want to be forgetting to shut off the camera before removing the SD card).
Also painted the silver parts black with Plastidip.
Also had to adjust the lens focus out of the box, as it was terribly blurry. Looks better now and I can read plates.
