DR600GW corrupting Transcend micro SD cards

Thanks jokiin. In the meantime, I've gone back to my 64gb Sandisk microSD card. If it continues to throw errors, I'll consider downgrading to a 32gb card, like a Samsung Evo.

DR600GW corrupting Transcend micro SD cards

Bought 2 brand new Class 10 300x 64gb Transcend microSD cards from Amazon, and both of which have been corrupted by my Blackvue. Both cards had been formatted to FAT32 file system on the PC before being used. Interestingly, both cards had about 9gb left when corrupted. The BlackVue would...

No dramas. Just keep us posted on progress :)

    SG9665GC anyone hardwire?

Any luck on identifying the root cause @jokiin? I am almost certain that waking up the screen, after the vehicle has been parked for an extended period of time with no GPS signal, is the root cause to missing clips. Over the past week or so, I have not noticed any missing clips from my SD...

Question About Files Missing Or Being Locked When I didn't Lock Them

What's the life expectancy of an SD card that's constantly being written to? Assuming I format the card once every fortnight or so.

Do you leave the dashcam in your car or take it with you when you are home or at work?

My dashcams run 24/7 whether driving or not. In my previous setup, I had a 3 port USB hub tucked away in the passenger side which allowed me to switch off individual cameras. After a few months, that became an eye sore so I rerouted all the cables and the hub to be a bit more discreet. I...

Comparisons between blackvue DR600 and the SC9665GC

There are literally dozens of sample clips from the Street Guardian on YT, just search for it. The quality on mine is superb and is consistent with what I've seen on YouTube. The SG is connected to an Cellink UPS which is hardwired to an ACC fuse on the car. When the engine is running, this...

    SG9665GC anyone hardwire?

Just got home from a short drive to drop my missus off in the CBD. Checked the card and I have full >8hours of recording with no missing clips. I have recordings from 0414 hours to 1228 hours with no missing clips or errors in the file listing. My car was parked undercover throughout the...

    SG9665GC anyone hardwire?

I wonder if it is anything to do with waking up the camera? That is, if I hadn't woken up the camera, would it have continued to record as it did for the past XX hours? Does waking up the camera trigger the GPS to check for a signal? In my case, and in both instances, I had woken up the...

    SG9665GC anyone hardwire?

That's good to know that I'm not just some random having an isolated incident LOL I have no doubt that this issue is now in good hands and will be addressed in due course :-) For those who don't park undercover, then there's obviously no issue. But for those who park undercover and record...

    SG9665GC anyone hardwire?

OK, results from my testing. Camera started recording at 0730 this morning and stopped at 2000 hours tonight when I took the card out. Upon inspection, I noticed: Very close to 64GB of video files present on the card. First video in file listing is 1130 and the last video is 2000 hours...

    SG9665GC anyone hardwire?

Yep. As long as the card was formatted in the camera itself, it should be good to use, right? The card initially came from my Blackvue unit, so it was already FAT32. I put the card in the SG and formatted it straight away before using it.

    SG9665GC anyone hardwire?

Will do. Do you have any suspicions at this stage as to what might be causing the issue?

    SG9665GC anyone hardwire?

    1. The card was formatted in the camera. I checked the Properties and it is FAT32. 2. The car had been parked undercover between 0500 hours and 1630 hours. I only took it for a short 20 min drive at 1630. 3. Firmware is SG20150526.002. I checked the camera this morning and the Cellink had...

    SG9665GC anyone hardwire?

Come to think of it, I'm sure I have missing clips between 1000 hours and 1630 hours, as it's not possible to have clips from 0530 which haven't yet been looped over. The card can only fit up to 5-6 hours of recording I believe, before it starts looping over.

    SG9665GC anyone hardwire?

Note also, and I'm not sure if it's clear in the manual, you can hardwire the Cellink in 2 ways. 1. ACC fuse - charge internal Cellink battery when engine is running. I'm not sure if there is any power bypass functionality, though (i.e. power the dashcams from car battery whilst Cellink is...

    SG9665GC anyone hardwire?

I used my own SD card. The SD card that was supplied with the unit was 32GB. I'm using my own Kingston 64GB. Hope you can decipher the English manual :P

    SG9665GC anyone hardwire?

My SD card currently has 647MB free, so some earlier recordings would have been wiped, I suspect.

    SG9665GC anyone hardwire?

I'm using the latest "release candidate" firmware you advised me to update when I purchased my SG last week. The Cellink is just a power source. 1. When the engine is off, the Cellink supplies power to the dash cams. 2. When the engine is running, the Cellink is charged as well as supplies...
