Sounds like the unit is faulty. Chances are there is a small battery in the unit that will be used exclusively for keeping the time when the power is off. It could be a bad battery or a genuine fault with the IC for the time keeping. I would contact the seller and ask for a replacement.

I suspect it does as when you look at Parking mode recordings it includes Front and rear recordings. As a tip I always park my car backwards to a wall. Then you only get front camera, high quality, recordings. Very useful to have a clear image if someone hits your car.

Nope, the time issue is caused because the custom firmware defaults to Russian. The solution is to delete the files in REC and SYSTEM folder and that can only be done by removing the Micro SD card from the camera and do the task in the PC.

As a update on the filter, I found the lens is only held in with a small dab of glue. The clip is strong enough to support the lens without the glue and to my advantage I was able to rotate the lens to fine tune the anti-glare to my preference.
