    SG9663DR update

Get yourself a Tesla Model 3/Y, no giggling keys needed, just keep your phone on your body. Will also help to the guy who keeps loosing his car in the parking lot and is discussing WiFi/etc in the other thread, because Teslas have GPS tracking in Tesla App. ROFL

    SG9663DR update

The housing feels light and cheap, not saying it is, but that's the feeling, wondering about plastic quality under the sun, despite being behind UV safety glass. Also housing feels hollow, what's inside the camera body, a single PCB with the sensor. What's driving the length of the housing, the...

Ah, ok, that's what I figured but thought I'd ask. Thanks

    SG9663DR update

USPS delay for me was 1 day. Got it today, left for work, will examine tonight. How many polarizing filters Is it supposed to have? I only have 1.

    SG9663DR update

The only way a magnet would cause problems is if the magnet or wires next to it are vibrating, that would induce current in the wires and thus noise on the line or lines next to it if the induced wire acts like an antenna. Stationary magnets do not cause electrical noise, nor do they affect...

    SG9663DR update

You're are talking about VCLeft, it has one 12V circuit available for power usage that was initially intended for trailer hitch but never implemented, 10A avg and 15A breaker, it's switched kind like ACC except it turns off 12 hours after the car is parked, not when you park it. There's no +ACC...

    SG9663DR update

Rich's thing is Model S which has a fuse box, so while he's done a lot of cool stuff, I'm not sure he'd be helpful here. I just need to find a service manual maybe to see if it lists the connectors which the harness uses and see who sells them. I guess I could always ask the service desk at...

    SG9663DR update

This should be the wiring harness connector, I wonder how easy it'd be to buy the male and female connectors, create your own bridge harness with a tap line. Provided of course that the tap doesn't interfere with normal sensor operation. and here's where you can see the connector and wires are...

    SG9663DR update

I just realized, the way Tesla determines when to switch between Driver profile and Easy_Entry profile so you can get out of the car easier by moving the seat and steering wheel into a certain position, is when the Driver unbuckles his seat belt and the car is parked. Now you won't get the Park...

    SG9663DR update

There are 2 USB plugs in the front, 2 USB in the rear. 1 12V socket in the center console. All of these run up to 12 hours after the car has been parked. The 12V socket is super inconvenient for things you need to connect outside of the center console, basically need to keep your elbow rest...

    SG9663DR update

The switched terminals turn off only after 12 hours! There is no way to program a timer to auto turn off after you park your car because there's no way to determine when you parked your car. That comment from the article about generating errors and problems by tapping into the wrong place sounds...

    SG9663DR update

Don't confuse ****ty EVs with Tesla. New Teslas give 2 NFC keycards (I think any NFC device will work, just give it access on the computer), any phone with Tesla App will work to start the car. A/C can be turned on remotely from the app.

    SG9663DR update

Damned studios, I had such a cool looking SentryMode screensaver in my Tesla Model 3, they had to go and file a cease and desist against Tesla, so Tesla changed the SentryMode icon. Getting my DR in the mail this week, will see how best to mount it, likely gonna have to run it 24/7 due to lack...

    SG9663DR update

There are many tricks to get low light pictures, some use simple binned mode but you see that with resolution being halved (# of pix / 4), others like on iPhones and Androids utilize multiple frame stacking, but this requires stationary camera, not viable for video. So don't confuse phone's...

    SG9663DR update

Binning is done 2 ways, physically connecting the pixels together or using switches to connect multiple pixels for readout, the latter is how it's usually done in order to have full resolution capability as well as binned mode. Both methods are done on the sensor, not on SoC. SoC just has to...

    SG9663DR update

I would be interested in IMX482 for example, it's a quad-bayer 2.9um binned sensor for a 5.8um pixel. Basically the same as IMX462 but binned. I realize IMX291 is also a 2.9um pixel, but binning it would readuce read noise, which would be very good for low light performance.

    SG9663DR update

In the future, will there be support for other cameras? I'm an image sensor characterization engineer with systems experience so I realize how difficult and costly it could be, but if that's something you've planned for then maybe it's possible.

Street Guardian USA was kind enough to ship the last one for my order, guess it'll get here in 2 business days from FL to CA via USPS.

    SG9663DR update

Not much of a launch party when what should be a new post with pictures of camera, specs, etc should be in it's own new thread, post#1. I decided to check on progress, got lucky, but I haven't been getting notifications from this thread because I haven't visited the last stupid reply someone...
