Just got mine from Amazon FS Tech (SplashETech). All good. I could see football goal net from 100 -150 ft.

If you bought 0805 from them, then it is the best match. SplashETech is legit and sells on Amazon for some time now. I just got one on sale, it arrived today.

Indeed, the issue looked like a hardware problem, no software would ever fix it. Hopefully, new 0803 hardware would get it right.

The battery is most likely is fine. Every Li-Ion battery have a small chip attached to cut off power when it is too low to save the battery. This is what often gets busted. Try another battery, perhaps.

I only noticed: 0803 micro USB GPS mount is not as sturdy as 0801 mini USB one, both mounts are interchangeable and work fine with either camera.

WDR was not engaged, it was during day. Anyway, it is ready to be send back, no reason for me to spend more of my time and effort on 0803. BTW, turning WDR off takes the only benefit of 0803 away. I just switched back to 0801 and it works for me just fine and it is proven camera.

I doubt any issue with lens. As picture improves in "S. Fine" (maximum crazy bit-rate). Did you try to switch Quality to "Fine" in V3 ? and see the results in 1080P? I just did and it is slightly better, but not even close to 0801. If 0803 is such great camera, why they sell it below 0801 price...

The battery deteriorated to the level: it could not keep internal clock running between changing cycles (when you use the car). Looks like you need to get a new internal battery to overcome this issue.

In "Fine" mode you would not be able to get any usable video recording from 0803 even in 1080P30 mode.
