Unfortunately It is more complicated to adjust on this camera.
I am afraid the temperature drift will make it worse. I would be happy to see a sharp image that goes off with temperature.
5-6 years ago my first Xiaomi action cam had the same issue with more blurry image. I disassembled and adjusted it myself. Okay it was only half or third the price the A800s.
Indeed, but the sharper screenshots are still not OK for me.
4k camera with a blurry 1080p image quality.
Oh now I understand why you asked the weather. It was 18°C, the camera was lukewarm.
For me it looks only barely acceptable but not OK. The image quality is far from expectations. It can lose focus? I thought the dashcams have fix focus. It makes more sense.
The weather Yesterday was sunny, today overcast with some rain.
Let's see what the 70mai supports opinion. If they don't...
Uhh, that is what I was afraid of...
Pain in the ass to send back the camera to china.
I will see what the customer service says.
Here is a sample screenshot form a 4k video:
Hello,
I have just got my brand new A800s kit and it has focus issues.
In the lower part of the image the dashboard is visible and crystal clear but beyond that, the road and anything farer is blurry.
It is clearly out of focus and I think it is not possible to fix it without disassembling the...
Hello,
I have updated my EU version Compact Dash Cam with the US FW.
After that it will not take any SD cards, even when it has been formatted by the camera. (tried with multiple cards in capacity and brand). Before the fw update it was OK.
After turning on it says "SD Card Error - Record...
Okay I wil try a different way. What is the weighting between the values 1..5?
eg. I have a table with values of 1, 2 and 3.
1, Does it mean that the segment with 2 have the double sensitivity as the segmwents with 1?
2, And the 3 is only 1.5x more sensitive as the 2?
3, What if this is the...
Can somebody explain me the exposure calculation with AE table?
I know that the values represent the sensitivity of the fields, but how is the exposure calculated with different modes (spot, center weighted, average, etc,)?
I had no time to reflash the camera but I made a simple test by rotating the camera. The difference is here also visible.
I am happy when there is at leat one person who think it is good for something :)
Are your scripts posted here in the forum somewhere? I want to check it out.
The attached photo is not taken with the Yi! It is just a sample, and shows the original AE.
Both modified AE are better for me as the vanilla.
I have tested both, and are used daily.
Center is for dashcam, average is for normal footages.
I will reflash the vanilla fw to take some videos.
I don't keep the records, only when something special happens. :(
So I can not show samples. The video what induced the whole thing was amazing, but the road was too dark! Similar to the attached photo (i've just googled)
Just want to give a hint if you use your Yi upside down as a dashcam.
In that case you might need to use the rotated image. The image is rotated at the end of image processing, I mean after the light metering. In some situations (driving toward the sun and the sun is low) the road and the other...
