What are the advantages & disadvantages of installing another firmware other than the G1WH default firmware's?

No problem. Just wondering if there were any other people that received a different box design for the device because of all the product sites, and review videos I've witnessed they came in white box. Perhaps it's just them updating their product line for a wider audience.

I just purchased and received this. The box is all grey. Anyone else obtained this international version? The manual has multiple languages but only covers up to BlackVue Viewer; roughly page 22 of the original manual and then it cuts off to other languages. I've attached the original manual...
