Hello Jokinn, and many many thanks for your help :woot: Your prompts have got me there in the end :banghead: I have downloaded and installed the "legacy" software for the player, and all is working properly again, without any of these constant "script error" messages:cool::cigar: My best...

Constant script error (referring to Google maps)- what to do?

When I open the Viewer (which I presume to be the playback software), and hit the Information icon at the top right corner of the screen, I see "software version: 2.40-HD-E", and below that "firmware version: unavailable" as shown on the attached screen-shot. So, do I need to update the software...

Constant script error (referring to Google maps)- what to do?

Thanks for taking an interest, jokiin :) When you say "the player", do you mean the Blackvue DR600? "Updated version"- is that the firmware for the DR600? I am sorry for being so ignorant of the terminology!

Constant script error (referring to Google maps)- what to do?

My BlackVue DR600GW shows this "Script Error" message as soon as I play back the video:(. I am unable to use the dashcam because it interrupts all the time. I'll attach a couple of screenshots in the hope that someone out there can tell me how to sort this out.

    Solved? Overheating of 400 & 500

HillBilly- it was upon reading Zapwizard's comment "Changing the voltage of the input would only greatly affect the heat if Pittasoft used inefficient linear regulators, which considering how well designed the rest of the internal electronics were I doubt..." that I decided not to waste time...

    Solved? Overheating of 400 & 500

I thought about buying a 12v>9v reducer for installing between the battery and the camera, but in light of Joshua's (Zapwizard) comment above have not done so, and cannot therefore add anything useful to the discussion :( . It would be most interesting to hear whether anyone else has tried...

    Solved? Overheating of 400 & 500

Would a 12v to 9v (3A 15 W) voltage converter such as this be suitable? It could be placed below the dashboard, out of sight. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Waterproof-DC ... 1118147605

    Solved? Overheating of 400 & 500

It seems that much of the heat is generated by the voltage reduction process, as 12v entering the camera case needs to be reduced to 9v or slightly less. Someone has suggested inserting diodes in the lead so to reduce the incoming voltage somewhat. The voltage reduction could surely be done in...
