Recommendation for a 3 channel dashcam

If you want the ultimate in long term reliability, would you have space for a mini DVR setup?

    Faaast....

I don't doubt that the "expert witness" will calculate correctly, but does this not still rely on the hardware being accurate in the first instance? How do they know that the dashcam is correctly recording the time rate and that say one second recorded is precisely one second in reality or...

    Faaast....

Is it guaranteed that dashcams are accurate and that footage has not been tampered with? Also wondering, if the equipment police use has to be Home Office approved, calibrated etc then why does the same diligence not apply to dashcams and the footage being submitted?

Aye, when you see some of the junction timings here you really do have to wonder who on earth gets to program it!

At about 14 secs you can see those green lights, plus the woman's gesture implies she has right to cross at that point, which I'm guessing is why it may have been better to stop on the orange? It's a big junction though and even the car in front doesn't seem clear? Must be awfully fast changing...

    Faaast....

More often than not I find those on the road judging others and flashing their lights in moral outrage are usually the worst and most ignorant drivers of all, and of course then there's the irony that by flashing their lights at people in this manner is an offence lol

    Waterproof Action Camera

Thanks, it's not the sharpest but I suppose you can still see what's going on. I reckon having something on your body or helmet would probably be better, that was the route I was going to take. I'm still on the hunt.

    Waterproof Action Camera

I'm still undecided as to what to do. The main supplier of the Mobius in the UK appears to be Webbex, but mine died within hours and customer service was far from friendly. On eBay the manufacturer listing from eletoponline365 ships from China and delivery times are up to two months - and then...

    Waterproof Action Camera

Yes it did have an auto rotate feature. I never got to test it out, but it was there in the settings.

Had an accident and checked the footage. Turned out that the camera stopped recording 2 months ago.

Sorry, what I should have added was that it draws my attention to the dashcam when it reboots, so I know something is wrong.

The Street Guardian I have will restart if the card fails or the led light will usually stop flashing, although sometimes it can still flash but the on screen recording symbol has stopped. It's not really a fully reliable failsafe but does help. I tend to format my card periodically in camera...

Mobius Maxi 4K Action Camera / Dashcam

Thanks, I tried everything but it was just dead. I've been refunded and not had a chance to look again yet. The tiny bit of test footage I got looked good though, so I think I'll source another one.

dashcam losing power after 30 minutes

I've never been a fan of using the OBD2 port to power a dashcam. Personally, I would get a defect hardwire kit.

    Question about suction mounts

I don't think I've ever kept a car that long!

    Question about suction mounts

3M tape for me as well. Not sure about others but the Street Guardian has a mount which the camera can slide on and off. I get ride of sticky residue with a window scraper like this...

Mobius Maxi 4K Action Camera / Dashcam

Just to bring this to a close, he refunded instead. So, the big question is whether or not I can trust another Mobius Maxi 4K from somewhere? The camera is pretty much perfect for my needs, but is it reliable?

Mercedes CLS350 - Switched 12v for Thinkware Q800 hardwire install

I wouldn't be keen to power via the OBD2, The F30 BMW I had could take between 10-20 minutes to shut down some of the circuits, it could be similar for your Merc? The Jaguar I had didn't have any switching fuses, but the 12V sockets (cigarette lighters) did switch off but they used a shared...

    What's missing from Dashcams?

I've got a few Ezviz cameras and they can do push notifications to my phone which is a brilliant feature along with a whole load of other features in the app (which is also very stable and reliable. For cameras that cost less than £50 it's very impressive, not to mention the image and audio...

    What's missing from Dashcams?

I've always wanted to see a proper NVR setup for cars. Being able to record to SSD rather than MicroSD would have a good impact on reliability and would also allow for very discreet installs. The DVR side of it is getting better and smaller. Our newest trucks are now running 4 cameras at 1080p...

Mobius Maxi 4K Action Camera / Dashcam

I've seen some of your past posts and figured the customer service would be good. I do get that with a small business emergencies can happen hence giving him some time to at least acknowledge receipt of my email. I also understand that even the best of products can fail, so it's not like I'm...
