    Dashboard Glare

I hate shiny dashboards!!! Enough danger (aka idiots) on the roads without having shiny reflective distractions inside the car as well! Rally and race cars have matt black flocked interiors for a reason... Anyway, I use a product called Groom, had the same can for years. Best thing I've ever...

    Rear camera

Hi gotheranger, and welcome! I think the truck rear camera is the same unit, but in a waterproof casing? Never seen one in the flesh, so can't be sure. Just make sure it uses the same SMB co-ax connectors. As for disconnecting your existing rear camera, no drama with that. I re-installed my...

Blackvue Viewer for Mac - "Cannot Play Video."

Hi Ian, Never tried this on mine before, but yes, I can click on one of the tiles and then press play and the viewer jumps to whichever part of the clip was selected and starts playing. Viewer version is 1.41 by the way...

Blackvue Viewer for Mac - "Cannot Play Video."

Nothing wrong with Macs, still far more stable than platforms running Billy Sh1te! I was a fan of Windows for a long long time, but having used a Mac for over 5 years now, there's no way I'd go back!

Blackvue Viewer for Mac - "Cannot Play Video."

Hi BlackVue Aus, Appreciate the reply, but wouldn't making your own SD cards be uneconomical from a business perspective? It is however, good, that you take the time to test and include known working SD cards if your customers desire them. Can remove a few headaches for folks that just want a...

    Doubts in DR650GW/S 2CH purchase

Yes, F770 has parking mode too, here's their web page: http://www.thinkware.com/Products/Dashcam/f770

    Doubts in DR650GW/S 2CH purchase

19 hours is LOT of driving! Good to hear you're happy with the image quality from your DR650, it's been a bone of contention for many people on this site from some time. My Mini 0806 still spits out a cleaner image (up to about 12.5Mbs from the single camera) than my DR650, although it's not...

    Doubts in DR650GW/S 2CH purchase

Welcome ManuM! A comparison post has just been issued by Blackvue about the differences between the GW and S series. Hardware appears to be the same, so no change in image 'quality', which is what many people are complaining about...

    DR650S

Here's a thread I was on last year, there is a video about half way down. Not sure about the rear camera, but should be the same with the focus adjusted by turning the lens. https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/new-dr650gw-2ch-power-magic-pro-install.13205/ Let us know how you get on...

Blackvue Viewer for Mac - "Cannot Play Video."

Hi Driver360, Suspect the 'official' BlackVue cards are just rebranded with a price hike! There is a top 10 list of compatible SD cards somewhere on this forum, I have number 2 or 3 on the list- 64Gb Class 10 Lexar UHS-I 300x in both my BlackVue and Mini 0806 cams, and these cards work...

    DR650S

Pretty sure all dash cams have fixed focus lenses, as there's no need for autofocus. My DR650GW front camera was out of focus when I bought it, so had to adjust it manually as it was easier than sending it back to the supplier. Review of the 650S would be interesting though to see how it stacks...

    30 vs 15 fps?

We're all waiting for the latest firmware, no amount of chuffing about with what's out now is going to improve things to an acceptable level ;-)

    30 vs 15 fps?

As both frame rates use a similar bit rate, 15fps should be better image wise. I use 15fps on mine to try and boost the quality, and there is a slight difference, although nowhere near what you might expect.

    Letter to Pittasoft

So the rumours are true, update from a couple of days ago. Was going to re-install the Blackvue in place of the Mini 0806, but going to hold off until the new firmware is released before taking my Range Rover to bits to install. Grrrr! ------------- Hello Mr Simon Sorry for getting back late to...

    Letter to Pittasoft

That should make a big difference, wonder if this guy knows about it ;-) Got the reply just 2 days after sending, so they were quick to reply. Did send a sample too, but got bounced saying their mailbox is full... --------- Dear Customer We thank you for choosing blackvue and we appreciate your...

    Letter to Pittasoft

Current bit rates are 6mbs for the front and 2mbs for the rear. Same situation as Wave Junkie for the collection of speeders, red light runners etc I have. Can only assume the upped 8.5mbs will be shared between front and rear, less than useless! Running the system as 15fps instead of 30fps adds...

    Letter to Pittasoft

Ok, so not a letter as such, but I wonder if they will listen if enough of us send this kind of request? ------ I’ve been using the Blackvue DR650-2CH for some time now, and although the functionality, build quality and reliability are all very good, the recording bit rate is just too low to be...

New DR650GW-2ch user - picture seems below par?

Xfilian, all dash cams are fixed focus, so if yours is off then you can either adjust yourself or return to dealer for replacement. Latter option is probably more advisable if you haven't got too much messing about with post and re-packing... For best results, have the camera pointing at an...

Anyone in UK on F/W 2.0

Probably, just getting on my wick that more and more manufacturers and web sites want your info and you to 'sign up' to access anything. Firmware is posted it on their own site, so why not apps too? Starting to think the conspiracy theorists might be onto something ;-) Might just bite the bullet...

Anyone in UK on F/W 2.0

Fair comment, but BlackVue could at least post the app on their own website.
