The NEW Viofo A129+ Duo - unboxing and specifications

Viofo has the eMMC model for sale on both their Aliexpress Store and Amazon.com. There's a sale on Aliexpress as it's 11.11 day. I ordered mine. I can't wait to test it out.

    B2W newer firmware 20190927

If I can bump this, I think what Leonauto was asking is how a user is supposed to know the difference between an old-batch TFT version vs the newer IPS screen cameras. I'm familiar with those technologies but a user might not be able to understand the difference in viewing angles. Is there a...

Help deciding between 70mai pro vs Viofo A129

Sorry to drudge up an older topic. I'm trying to get more info on what drawbacks of a "Chinese Domestic Product" are. From what I gathered searching through your posts they: Tend to be a lot flashier in appearance, not as stealthy as the export market expects Have reduced quality control...

    VIOFO A119 V3

I just saw some negative feedback on the new generic adhesives - failure from a user in Malaysia even when they followed best practices when applying the mount. First comment I've seen. I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

    Where to buy, International

Yup, I know that's standard. I wanted to confirm what their arrangement is before I write something untrue. It could be they have a contract with a local depot to handle warranty issues or possibly just ship a fresh unit from Amazon directly if it saves them time/money. I think BlueSkySea...

    Where to buy, International

Hey @viofo what's the warranty process like for customers in the UK? I know you sell directly over Amazon but once 30 days pass will customers have to ship their camera back to China? If they do is shipping covered? How about other English speaking countries like Singapore or Australia...

    VIOFO A119 V3

Your point of view makes sense - the V2 doesn't compete but I think it does offer excellent value. It does 85-90% of what's needed - if people spent the rest on getting a good microSD card I think it would be better. I also think the V2 is great if you need to stick your camera in the corner...

    VIOFO A119 V3

Will the V3 replace the V2 (any planned date?) or will both exist and the V3 be the hardware upgrade?

    SG96663DC Vs. SG9663DCPRO

Neat, I noticed you added a mesh cable and plastic shroud. What does the mesh cover (26) help to do? Keep all the wires together for a neater install? Any chance you have photos? Edit: Can I also ask about any modifications (if any) you made to the heat resistance of the SG9663DC compared to...

    MicroSD options, including MLC cards

Yup that all makes sense. I think Samsung has consistently put out a quality product and has backed it up with good customer support. I just wish the labeling was clearer.

    MicroSD options, including MLC cards

I agree it's the technical definition but in common usage, MLC is exclusively assigned to 2 bits of data/cell. You really have to go out of your way to find people referencing MLC as a catch-all term. I think Samsung's playing games if they want to use MLC as a generic term for 2-bit and...

    MicroSD options, including MLC cards

I had an interesting discussion about whether Samsung Pro Endurance is MLC or TLC and Samsung's deceptive labeling practices. Samsung uses a marketing term for their 3D TLC NAND calling it "3-Bit MLC", which isn't a real thing. 3-Bits is always TLC. Extremetech talked about that same issue...

Which parking mode selection is less taxing on camera?

Here are the measurements I got. I used two multimeters, one to read voltage and the other wired in series to get amperage.

Premium Camera Showdown: Blackvue DR900S-2CH vs Thinkware F800 Pro vs Street Guardian SG9663DC

I completely understand why you would choose to omit mentioning the WiFI features until it was ready. I'm glad you kept it in as I think without WIFI, the SG9663DC wouldn't be a compelling pick. I had to mention the current state. Still I should have added a note stating that you were working...

Premium Camera Showdown: Blackvue DR900S-2CH vs Thinkware F800 Pro vs Street Guardian SG9663DC

I bought a bunch of premium front-back dash cams and reviewed them. Everything was purchased by me, didn't get anything for free. SUMMARY Street Guardian SG9663DC - My great value pick for a premium camera. Has the features needed: reliable parking mode, heat resistance, good video quality...

Time Lapse vs Motion Detection Parking Mode Recording

I have an issue with timelapse mode - when it switches to event parking the initial 10 seconds are horribly unusable. It'll show a few frames then stop for the next 10 seconds. I don't think it's ready for use - then again it might be my camera? Has anyone else experienced this?

Rear Camera Frames Lost Between Videos?

As the titles states is anyone else losing a few frames of video between each video? I'm noticing a skip as the video lurches ahead. The front camera for me is fine.
