I'm interested in seeing the footage from this camera and its performance.

    Kamkar1 footage.

The faster you are going, the more important a higher frame rate (e.g. 30 -> 60 fps) supposedly has on the image quality compared to a higher image resolution. (e.g. 1080p -> 1296p). This is important for capturing license plates when the vehicle (either yours or the other driver) is moving at...

Where did you mount the camera? Post your pictures

Why can you not use more than 1 ? You can use an adapter on your cigarette lighter that splits it into two USB ports. One being able to deliver 1A of current and the other 2.1A. Most dashcams will take up to a max of 1A (usually less).

    Third camera location?

I'm thinking of buying a dash cam and installing it in my home with a sucker attached to a window and powered from a wall socket. Am I nuts ?

    Third camera location?

its like we're building an air defence system. positioning all the surface 2 air missiles in the right places to intercept any low flying "bombers" about to hit our vehicle.

Ideal number of dash cams to have

I do mostly highway driving and I notice that at 1080P @ 30, its not easy to capture a driver's license plate if the other driver is accelerating. Beyond some short distance the plate is already a blur. I'd argue the same is true for 1296P @ 30. I believe you need 60 frames per seconds and a...

Where did you mount the camera? Post your pictures

You guys got cameras coming out the wazoo. 3 to 4 cameras up front, another couple more in the back.. I'm still waiting on my Marcus 4 to arrive. Then I'll have a grand total of 2 cameras - which is about 8 less than you guys have.

What phone is best for recording?

Use your cell phone to take pictures of the damage to both vehicles & license plates and individuals involved in the crash. That's where cell phones with good quality cameras prove their worth.

Rear cam - my Subaru XV side swiped by 18 wheeler

The video looked like a scene out of the movie Terminator 2. Are you sure a T-1000 is not out to terminate you.

first accident recorded on a dash carm

Since the light turned green for you shortly after, it looks like the white SUV did have right of way. He had to get out of the center lane. The black car looked like it ran its orange/red stop light. Black car is at fault in this accident.

first accident recorded on a dash carm

I'm guessing its the white SUV who's at fault in this accident. The car in the black vehicle has right of way. It would be interesting to know the state of the traffic lights. If the lights turned red and the white SUV was stuck in the middle, the white SUV has right of way (I think).

Yes... one that has fallen off with great regularity in the brutal winters we have here. It gets to be as cold as 40 below zero celcius.

Senior citizen seeking advice on purchase

Do not do that. You will eventually forget to move it from one vehicle to another and that's when you'll get into a crash. Also fiddling around with it by installing and uninstalling it is a good way to screw it up eventually. I would suggest buying 2 separate dash cams and keeping it...

Senior citizen seeking advice on purchase

If you drive to work everyday as I do putting thousands of kilometers on your vehicle in a year, odds are that you will eventually land in a crash. That is the law of probability. Whatever dash cam you choose, make sure it is reliable and easy to use in an emergency.

Ideal number of dash cams to have

I swear if I spend any more time on this forum, my car is going to be covered in dash cams. What would you say is the ideal number of dash cams to have. The thought of having just a single dash cam in front that fails me when I most need it is worrying. It might not be the dash cam itself...

Well if you used it correctly and it did not work, you are entitled to get your money back. Disclaimer or not, a water proof case should be doing what its name implies.
