I don't think the cams will communicate to external domain names - well mine can't talk to the external ntp servers - so I setup ntp on my phone the cams are connected too and synced their time with that. Maybe it would work with IPs just not domain names?

The wires are purely for additional USB power the app still controls the cameras through wireless ;) There is no way to currently use USB to communicate with the cameras maybe in the new release. - Also FW must be 1.2.13 - 1.3 is currently not supported as it has just been released for the Z25...
