    2cams or a 2chan setup - Under £100

Just noticed this post. If you're still looking, I have a CF-100 with GPS, which was still working fine on both channels after 15 months use, when I removed it from my previous car before trading it in. The front & rear mounts, GPS mouse and cable clips have all been cleaned up and 3M VHB...

Has anyone ever fitted a rear cam to a car with a folding hard top ?

Thanks for confirmation. Sounds like I will need to soldier on with the CF-100 and wait for the SG dual remote then.

Has anyone ever fitted a rear cam to a car with a folding hard top ?

The rear cam would need to be usable in the same orientation as if it were a front cam mounted directly on the dashboard, except it would be more like a rear parcel shelf and facing out of the rear windscreen. If the DC is anything like the GC, that would mean it was upside down.

Has anyone ever fitted a rear cam to a car with a folding hard top ?

Volvo C70 (folding hardtop) owner here - I ran a BlackSys CF-100 in it for over a year, before removing it to trade that car in for a newer one of the same model. I mounted the rear cam on the nearside rollover hoop cover behind the headrest and, although still being quite low to the rest of...

F&R on Camera, GPS, Quick Dismount/Mnt, prefer Loop Record

You really don't need to worry on that one. Loop record is one of the things that is fundamental to a dashcam, as is locking of event-triggered files and auto-start on incoming power. The blurb might not specify it but the DP520 will most certainly do it. It will also almost certainly take a...

    CF-100 dead after 5 months

Sorry to hear that, and hope the RMA goes smoothly if it comes to that. I'll be continuing to keep a weekly eye on mine, also 5 months old now. I had one issue recently where the front cam just stopped recording about 30secs into a journey but the rear continued, I got one huge file for the...

Ebuyer are doing a discount on this dashcam

Quite right, I was getting ahead of myself. The manual for mine states Sony Exmor 2MP but not which one.

Ebuyer are doing a discount on this dashcam

1080p front with Sony IMX322 sensor, 720p rear which is enough for the basics. Capacitor for reliability. Mine has worked fine from day one, now 5 months in. I linked the item with all the reviews on, but I see the seller also has the same cam on cheaper at £59.29 and fulfilled by Amazon.

    BlackSys CF-100 problems....

I have the same setup that you do. There's not much you can do to troubleshoot it, it should basically just work straight out of the box, and reliably. I wonder though if it might be a problem writing the extra volume of data for the rear cam to the memory card fast enough when you have both...

Argh - so confused! Any advice appreciated!

I turned the sensitivity on mine down to zero (I tested that this still triggers OK in an emergency stop and/or sudden swerve, so I expect it would also be fine in any shunt) and I still get the odd chime out of it over some of the dodgier road surfaces on my regular routes. But with the sound...

Argh - so confused! Any advice appreciated!

I got the CF-100 4 months ago when the price first came down, it's been totally reliable and the rear video isn't all that bad. I can still see number plates behind, and that's with the remote cam being mounted just a couple of inches above the rear deck of a convertible, over to one side. A...

Is it possible to have 2-channel 1080p dash cam systems based on supercaps (not batteries)?

Apologies for the late reply, just found this thread as I'm not normally in this section. I do wonder if @jokiin's reply was more to confirm that you're able to physically place the remotes wherever you like, rather than being able to run the two higher-bitrate remotes from the same DVR. Would...

    Here's the dashcam I want

I'm using a dual-channel system in a convertible. Even though I don't own a smartphone (there's always one ;)), I don't feel the need for a screen either (it's a BlackSys CF100). Sounds like you're looking for a Koonlung K1S with wi-fi instead of the screen, and maybe the waterproof rear...

    cf-100 adhesive mount surface

Just measured mine from outside the car, looks like it's 40mm x 25mm. If you ordered the GPS too, the sticky pad for that is 25mm x 15mm although the GPS itself is longer, about 45mm.

Result! Happy to have helped, and hope it works for you :)

Dual-cam setup that can withstand high-ish temps..

Dated or no, with a similar requirement list to yours, I went BlackSys CF-100 with optional GPS. Add a hardwire BDP kit and that gives you everything you're looking for plus pre-buffered parking mode still within budget. Dual channel even if the rear cam is nothing special, capacitor power so...

CF-100 wasted space on SD card

Don't remember seeing them anywhere in the BlackSys viewer except in the tab where you enter them. Maybe they get put in the metadata for the movie files and stills? (I'm assuming there is some?)

    Newbie looking for suggestions

Yes, whenever the camera starts writing a new file to the card, you do lose about half a second of footage from the rear camera. But this isn't a problem, should there be an accident. That half-second of rear footage was recorded, it just wasn't transferred to the card from the processor. The...

The box contains everything you need to run the setup drive-time only from the 12v socket - all cables, connectors, mounts and 3M sticky pads. You even get 5 sticky cable clips to help you route the leads in places where they can't be tucked away behind trim panels, and a 16GB microSD card with...

    Newbie looking for suggestions

I recently got a Blacksys CF-100 as my first dashcam. They're selling them off cheap now they're an old model, but what you get for the price (currently just £60 in the UK) is amazing - dual channels, capacitor power, quality components including Sony sensor on the front cam, it feels well-made...
