    New firmware version V-1.03.026-US

Just loaded this on my camera. Here are the new features and changes listed - 1. Add 720P resolution options 2. Add driving information 3. Optimization of online video playback rate 4. Add small size video For #2, there is a new setting called "Driving Report" which I assume is related. No...

International YI Car DVR - info

Can confirm once I use the first 14 characters (which are also the ones displayed on sticker on bottom of the cam), then the new serial # displays just fine! Thanks for the help! I guess the last question would be, I wonder if firmware upgrades via the App will work correctly? We might have to...

Just a note to people trying this, it looks like you should use the serial number listed under the last menu option (in normal firmware). The exclamation point, when selected shows the full serial number of the device. There is one written on the outside of the dash cam, but it seems to be a...

Will there be a US/International version?

Someone seems to have gotten the international -> US firmware working. Check out the thread here (near bottom) - https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/international-yi-car-dvr-info.18455/page-2

You mentioned problems with WiFi, what does this involve exactly? Do you have to reboot the dashcam every time you want to enable WiFi? I'd almost rather stick with Chinese firmware and have the English app at least. If there are going to be hardware issues.

Automatic power + switch for manual power

Cool, much appreciated, thanks for the help/info!

Automatic power + switch for manual power

OK, sounds like maybe it was an older hardware revision, or that particular person's setup then, who knows. In your bench testing, what happened when you immediately raised the "battery" voltage directly after a shutoff? The multisafer just stayed off then? I would hope there would be some...

Automatic power + switch for manual power

It was from a review on Amazon here - http://www.amazon.com/review/RB8NI2QQVZMG1/ Mine is still in the mail, so yet to be seen if I have the same issue.

Automatic power + switch for manual power

The Vico-Power PLUS does look pretty nice, but $75 is a bit too rich for my blood! :( Ended up picking up a multisafer, hoping that will suit my needs... One review I noticed on the multisafer said that the voltage cutoff basically doesn't have any "debounce". It will drop to a certain level...

Automatic power + switch for manual power

This setup was my original thought as well, but, like you said, I have no idea if this would be "safe" or not, ha. I'm fairly sure this would put the power sources in parallel, which seems to be a bad idea? Edit: Just realized, technically isn't every fuse really coming from the battery...

Automatic power + switch for manual power

Oh, nope! That gadget actually doesn't exactly what I need, let's me toggle between acc and constant power. Too bad it is $35, but ah well! I just was not able to find anything like that when googling. It seems like there are really only two brands that make something like it too.

Automatic power + switch for manual power

Oh, I see, the key is having the Multi Safer box, which can accept multiple power sources and route them to one basically?

Automatic power + switch for manual power

Well, that gets me a dashcam that can be manually turned on/off right? Doesn't get it to where the default behavior would be to turn on/off with the car automatically (without any action from me).

Automatic power + switch for manual power

I'm planning to hardwire my dashcam, using add-a-circuit. My original thought was to use my accessory power fuse, which only is powered when the car is turned on. This way the dash camera will turn on automatically when I turned on the car. However, I'm wondering if there is a way to have the...
