Strange that the “international” version really doesn’t have H.265. I’ve got the Chinese version with the same model number. It has menus that can be toggled between Chinese and English. Even the firmware version is the same as yours. Manufactured July 2017.

You bought the less expensive Power Edition (black) which doesn't have ADAS.

All I can suggest is: don't do it. Look at all these posts from people with bricked cameras. It's not as if the menu items are difficult to understand: recording mode, Wi-Fi on/off, format SD card, restore defaults, etc. The app is fully English. The risks far outweigh the benefits.

Chinese firmware 028 was pulled back about a week ago after some customers complained on Yi BBS. English version has been on 026 for a long time.

I agree and I think the camera is intended for a Chinese audience. There's less of a security concern there and dash cams act as a visible deterrence against scammers. You see loud designs from Yi, Xiaomi, and 360.
