Thanks. I just tried using the empty fuse slot #22 and #23. Both of them got “hot as start” when the ignition started. Thanks again.

No, I did not pull out the fuses. Why do I need to determine the hot pole? Does it matter? I put the fuse tap in the fuse slot in different direction before and the power still hot.

I tested the front, center and the empty fuse slots with the multi-meter today. It was surprised that all the fuses are “hot” (active) without starting the car. In other words, there must be a relay or something between the fuse and the 12v socket to turn off the power to the 12v socket.

According to the fuse chart, that 12v socket supposed to be accessory. Anyway, I will use the multimeter to double check again.

This is what I am thinking that there is a relay which control the 12v socket to turn off when the car not started. I just need the simple installation, when the car starts, the dashcam turns on.

The car is left hand drive. I fuse tapped the mini fuse from the fuse panel on the passenger side. This is extremely not logical, if I fuse tapped without the ignition on, there should be no power. I fuse-tapped my other car without any problems.

I checked already, when the car turn off, the 12v socket turned off instantly.

The front of the car has 2 sockets, they will only turn on when the ignition is ON. I tried both fuses already but my 12v female socket was still on even when the car was OFF. I just want the dashcam to turn on when the ignition is turned on (the basic installation method).

I have checked out of these external sunshade in the last couple of days, seems functional. I may get one of these as well an they have different style as well. The only concern is the bird poo :ROFLMAO:, I do not want to put the sunshade back to the car when they are still fresh.

Looks like I have to get of the those external sunshade if I am afraid of breaking the mounting clip between the dashcam and the gps mount. Those external sunshade (depends the style and material) can reflect the sunlight from outside and block the heat going inside the window glass.

What would you suggest? My gps mount already taped to the windshield glass. I have to unclip the dashcam each time if I decided to put on the sunshade. Another alternate solution is placing the external type sunshade outside the windshield.
