I don't do any of that stuff. I live in California and if you're recorded on my dashcam, you're recorded on my dashcam. I don't think anybody is really that overzealous to enforce such vague petty rules.

The skateboarder was riding in the van's blind spot, it looks like. Probably not the van driver's fault, but I don't know for sure.

The fourth one worked. At first I thought it bricked the camera because after a message saying "PROCESSING" for a while, it made a very loud static noise and then suddenly shut off, which I didn't think was good. Then I plugged it back in and it turned on as usual, even displayed a new startup...

It does initialize a connection. On my PC it prompts me to open a folder to view the files on the microSD card inside the Jado.

I formatted the SD card as suggested, moved the .BIN file onto it, put the microSD back into the JADO and plugged it into the PC's USB port. The JADO turns on, then goes to a blue screen reading "USB CONNECTING" and it just stays there forever. I've tried multiple times but always get the same...

Trying to update the firmware right now but all I'm getting is the message "USB CONNECTING" on the screen. Nothing else happens.

Ok I'm going to try and use the 20131202 firmware provided in Tobi@s's signature (MPH only + GPS + External card) for my JADO D169. Hope it doesn't brick it. The JADO has GPS but no internal, so I can't use the provided links for the 20131230 firmware.
