I was also having a similar issue in an accident I had with another camera: All recordings were good except the recording where the crash has happened. In my case the g-shock-detection somehow corrupted the video (instead of locking it to prevent overwriting).

To fix the blur you just have to manually adjust the lens. But regarding the IR issue I dont know.

I haven't seen the other thread but have you disassembled the camera? You can manually adjust the focus, maybe thats all thats needed. Unfortunately I cant provide any spare parts, I just recycled mine a few weeks ago. I even had the old lense still lying around.
