Dash cam as a parking aid? Like reverse bumper cam

Do you have manufacture details on this device? Adding to the OEM is not possible due to the wiring harness is designed for each truck trim level (inputs are fixed). Had I known from the start I could have purchased the 360 camera option for the truck and requested a custom build. My goal is...

Dash cam as a parking aid? Like reverse bumper cam

Can a forward facing dash cam be used for a bumper camera while parking? I drive a large F350 and would really like it if I could see clearly how close I am to the wall or anything out of sight. With a reverse camera I can park 1" away from a wall without worry as the camera has me covered...

    BlackVue DR750S-2CH

Maybe not right place to ask this but if having a camera with a battery built in is a concern how do these battery packs manage it? While they won't be in direct line of site they still will be exposed to full cab temperatures. Where I live heat never actually seems to get hot enough that it...

    F800 Pro availability in US?

Correct me if I am wrong but would a higher frame rate give you better chance at getting a still in focus where the plate might not be easiest to see? Assume image quality is the same between the both of them. 60 frames would give you double the chances to get a solid in focus image like when...

That seems like a very solid deal. Single channel thought.

Are there any dual lens dash cams with "always on" wifi?

Your title tends to lean towards the idea you want the camera to be powered while parked on your drive way and send video over wifi. The battery drain of that would likely wear your battery down in a night to nothing. You would need to do some rather significant modifications to get this setup.

    MAC Address

Plug it into your home router and the router should tell you it's MAC address. I am assuming you can't find it under settings in the camera. Basically use something else to tell you it's address.

    CH-200 or F770

I am sorry but I can't comment at best it would be an educated guess. I am sure others might be able to provide feedback but given blacksys ch 200 is so new and only appears on one website I don't think there is many hands on reviews.

Thinkware F800 - Bit of footage

One thing to confirm is it actually using all of the 128gb or just a portion given the file format limitations? If I recall fat32 can format any size disk but you will be limited to partition sizes. Aka have 8 letter drive on a 1TB disk type scenario. It could very well be large card still...

    CH-200 or F770

The blacksys does have voltage cut off. To what the cut off is off hand I do not know. I made a thread on the camera as did not see one already. Blacksys is said to be cheaper but still offer high quality sensors. I have read thinkware features like anti collision and such are poor performers...

These high end cameras run fat32 as well?

    FAT32 formatting

I never thought about lisencing fees given I am the end user and not a manufacture. At work we still use serial cables as primary means of communication and finding serial cards or laptops with serial is extremely difficult. USB to serial dongles exist but they have issues. How does the system...

    FAT32 formatting

I am kind of stunned a camera uses fat32. That was an old format 10 years ago. Why is that format being used to start with? All memory cards have a theoretical max read and write before they corrupt. Do modern dash cams notify you when there is a card error?

BlackSys CH-200 2 Channel Dash Cam

I came across this cam and appears to be a brand new offer from blacksys. They say it is cheaper but offers premium services like others with lots of customization. Allows for massive SD cards! No cloud features (not sure I like a cloud given need secondary internet access to start with). Bellow...

Thinkware F800 - Bit of footage

No support for 128 cards. Not suitable for wiring on right side of mirror. No cloud support in the new model. Almost wonder why bother when the 770 can be had with solid discounts. I am no expert nor do I say I know anything about cams but if I am shelling out $600 for a dash cam it needs to...

Thinkware F800 in Best Buy soon for $299

For the less read in folk how do you all expect the F800 to compare to say the blackvue dr650? Specs wise as I am sure there is not really much hands on so far.

Thinkware F800 in Best Buy soon for $299

Is the " air" version an add on or a different camera? I feel like it is a bit confusing but seems like there might be an air and not air version. I would assume air having cloud features and other one not. I am wondering if one could tie the cloud based actions to a car system like Ford pass...
