Agree - it's not for everyone. I would recommend people send their cams back for replacement as quality issues are still there. But for handy out there, this was a 10 minute job (and that is while taking pictures ;)

Unfortunately I don't have binary for GPS + External card (No Internal) for my version. The one on his site is for GPS + Internal card + External card. This is the only reason I never upgraded/customized mine as there was no going back to what works great at the moment.

It sounds more like you have a faulty GPS bracket. If you are not getting camera to turn on when power is connected to the bracket, then there is something wrong with it. Like @frazzeld said, contact the seller to resolve.
