    256gb microsd

It's never enough. :-( In this case, when they say it supports up to 128GB, they seem to mean it, but not for the reasons you might expect. You might think that since 128GB cards are supported, and they have to conform to the SDXC standard, that any card up to 4TB that SDXC specifies should be...

    Wasted Money.

Actually, in most countries the main legally enforceable warranty is with the retailer, and the length of this will vary depending on country/region. In EU, it is mandatory for the retailer to provide at least a 2 year warranty on all electrical goods. The manufacturer's warranty is much, much...

    script to donwload the videos

I already did that, but see what I said above - WiFi struggles to connect even when there is a clear line off sight, and when it does connect, it's very slow, sufficiently so that it has only a very slim chance of downloading all of the previous day's recordings overnight. Skip a day, and you...

    script to donwload the videos

If only you could get that level of access to the Blackvue camera. Unfortunately, being rampant GPL violators, they don't provide the source code and build tools to make modding easy.

    script to donwload the videos

My experience is that the cameras are extremely unlikely to connect to the AP even at 30ft with a direct line of sight, while my phone will reliably connect from inside the car. When they do connect, the transfer speeds are sufficiently bad that I am not convinced it is possible to pull the...

    Blackvue DR650GW-2CH _ (Custom firmware)

Is there a custom firmware for the DR650S model? And how is the .sue checksum file generated? It appears to be a 12-byte (96-bit) signature/hash, but I cannot find any documentation on what algorithm is used to generate it.

    Wasted Money.

Totally unrelated product. The only thing that Blackvue and Lukas have in common, is that they are massive GPL software licence violators. Both cameras run Linux internally, and other GPL software. Last I checked, Blackvue firmware contained 7-8 such software licence violations.

    256GB?

My experience is that cards > 128GB will not work. I tried a 200GB card, and while it sort of works, it draws too many amps, which makes the camera crash regularly, and WiFi range goes down to about 6 inches when it works at all.

Blackvue Network File Downloader (updated 07/06)

I'm not sure why it would be frowned upon, and I don't see how they can prevent something like using a GUI testing tool to automate the process without even looking at the underlying network protocol.

Blackvue Network File Downloader (updated 07/06)

Indeed, I am aware that opening things up this way would be ill advised without a very smart WiFi router, which a typical MiFi device isn't. Additionally, at least here in UK, most of not all mobile network providers use NAT, and the IP your device gets is somewhere in the 10.0.0.0/8 range...

Blackvue Network File Downloader (updated 07/06)

Is there a way to do something similar over Blackvue Cloud? Blackvue Cloud Viewer (desktop app) has the functionality to download all recordings from the camera as long as the dashcam is connected to the internet/cloud, but I can't find any info on the protocol for this. Ideally I want to poll...
