You will of course have a similar problem if you drive abroad. A simple solution is to always leave it on UTC ("GMT")

I had this "problem" but solved it by simply pointing the dashcam one notch down, giving less sky in the field of view. The brightness seems to be a lot more stable now, being less dependant on the sky brightness (sun / cloud).

I'm using the firmware from Tobi@s, which you'll find here: FIRMWARE and having no problems . Make sure you choose "GPS + External card". Also try setting the G sensor to "5G" (the least sensitive).

On a No GPS, No internal card from Joovuu, Samsung 32 Go class 6 works fine (formatted on the 0801). Firmware 20131230.

Good evening, I followed the link that I found on here somewhere to download RegistratorViewer, which gives very fluid video playback (better than VLC). But try as I may, I can get no sound play-back. Is this normal ? (and yes, there is audio on the recording - the sound's fine on VLC)

:p :p It's not an "interference" sort of noise - chirupping is best, although "squeaking" would do. I'll try it on the internal battery. I have a sneaky suspicion it's to do with the OCP, though. Here's a little video (you'll have to turn the sound up).

Just finished fitting my Mini0801, and all seems to work well. Video quality good (but obviously not Bluray quality). I have a little problem though - when I play back the videos I have a sort of 'chirruping' noise in the background (rather like cicadas on a hot summer's day in Provence ;) )...

I would have thought just the opposite. 5G surely needs a bigger shock to set it off than 1G ?

Have you tried using a different USB port on your computer ? (assuming you have more than one).
