    Mini 0801S Dashcam (Mstar MSC8328P, Omnivision OV2710, GPS) [GearBest.com] *UPDATED 10th MAY 2017*

Ah, I just want to say a "Big Thank You" to Hultaj who has just very kindly sent me the latest firmware file he received from Joy ! So I've updated the camera and now it is possible to switch off the "Speed" display should you wish to eh ? ;) PS If anyone else wants the file then send me a...

    Parking Mode Mini 0801

Hi Brian, When I first bought my 0801 I had the 'Motion Detect' feature 'ON' and was also experiencing the camera operating as you describe above. So I set the 'Motion Detect' feature 'OFF' and ever since then I've had no problems whatsoever with it recording ALL of my journeys correctly...

    Parking Mode Mini 0801

IMO you'd probably be better off choosing a different camera to the 0801 if you want a 'Parking Mode' facility. The 0801 has a relatively short internal battery life so for anything more than about 20 minutes or so it'll have to be powered by the car battery. Now assuming it is powered by...

    Download/playback question

Um, but can't you simply Copy the entire contents of the Camera's SD card to your hard disk first ... and then run the Registrator application with the files now on your hard disk ? Or am I missing something ?

    Download/playback question

Don't you have something similar to the above screenshot from Windows Explorer ?

    How does the gsensor work?

If you have the 'G-Sensor Precision' set to the lowest value of '2G' then just a lesser more gentle impact is required to trigger the 'locking' of the files ... Likewise if you have the 'G-Sensor Precision' set to the highest value of '5G' then a much more forceful impact is necessary before any...

Newb Question, mini 0801 motion sensor

Indeed ... I have the 'Motion Detect' feature switched OFF for exactly the reasons you mention ! As far as I can make out ... it only makes sense to have 'Motion Detect' switched ON for those people who have their camera switched ON but who are not recording anything !!! :D LOL LOL :D

Newb Question, mini 0801 motion sensor

It's a "motion detector" in the sense that if there's movement in front of the camera lens then it'll start recording if it isn't already. Maybe a more useful feature if the camera is being used as a security camera ?

    Loop settings, no loop bug?

Yes ... but the reason for me expecting larger files was because when I was researching into this camera before buying it I read a review which suggested each file would be like 2Gb / 4Gb in size. Now I know better !!!

    Loop settings, no loop bug?

And it stopped recording midway through a file once it reached 'full'. As I mentioned above though the MOV files are all 5 minutes long.

    How does the gsensor work?

Yes ... when it is ALREADY recording.

    Loop settings, no loop bug?

Well I've tested my camera before today [with a 32Gb card] on the "1 minute" loop setting and it looped over the earlier recordings as it should. However today is the first time I've tried recording with the Loop Setting set to 'OFF'. I have it recording now on the internal 8Gb card and I...

    Loop settings, no loop bug?

Surprise  I have firmware 20131202 and it also records files of only five minutes when the Loop Setting is 'OFF' !!!

    Loop settings, no loop bug?

Hmmm ... I'm testing my camera now with the "Loop Setting" set to 'OFF ' ... I'll let you know what happens shortly :)

    Loop settings, no loop bug?

If you want the camera to loop over the earlier recordings when it runs out of space you MUST use a loop setting of 1, 3 or 5 minutes otherwise it simply stops recording once the SD card is full

    Loop settings, no loop bug?

Sounds like a fault to me ... what Firmware version do you have ? Or you could try resetting the Camera using the 'Default Setting' option ?

    "Invalid" MOV Files

Problem Solved :D Thankfully all it was, was the SanDisk Class 10 card. Having replaced it with a non-SanDisk Class 6 card the 0801 then faultlessly recorded through the whole 32Gb and then began to loop over the first files, yayyy ! I had it on 1 minute segments and overall it recorded...

Mini 0801 freeze With GPS and no internal memory

So except for 'Protecting' a file it's working ok?

    "Invalid" MOV Files

Ho Hum ... it seems as though my problem can only be related to the SanDisk card :( Having updated the Firmware to "firmware-NO1-SPIF-TB15.bin" "FW VER : 20131202" I'm still encountering the same "Invalid" files after about 90 mins of recording (or approx 7Gb). Looks like I'll have to buy a...

    "Invalid" MOV Files

Hi and thanks for your reply :) I'm using a new SanDisk 32Gb Class 10 and now I've been reading about all of the recommendations AGAINST using a Class 10 card .... ARGH ! In the meantime I've had a reply back from E-Prance offering me their latest Firmware, mine's dated "20131026". So I'll...
