Rear window cam affecting DAB radio

Years ago I put a second cam on the rear window that had an integrated antenna. That ended radio reception. Tried routing, filters and anything I found. Only solution was trashing the rear cam. Wish I had better for you.

SpyTec G1WH doesn't say goodbye, it just goes black then flashes Welcome, goes black then loops it over and over til internal battery dies.

Had a nice cam that did that after a few years. Gt680 I think. Battery was spent. Thanks to you tube, took it apart, found the battery on Amazon and bought a 5 pack for about ten bucks. One took the cam out past its obsolescence and it went with the car.

Can i use moonroof as constant power and empty fuse?

Good judgement comes from bad experience. I once tied a dashcam into the dome light ground. Then found the car used both the "hot" and "ground" to operate the light. I suggest going back to the fuse box with an add a fuse kit and connect to a shared ground. Or, as I just did, get a kit that...

Pickup truck uses door to block drivers from using shoulder.

Years ago I saw a rig similarly consumed by fire. I couldn't believe how little of the truck was left. That reminds me to make sure my new driver son knows to abandon the vehicle and keep distant in the event of fire. Cars are cheap compared to hospital bills and funerals.

    Shadow GT550W replacement battery

Did same with my GT680W - got batteries from Ebay and how to video from YouTube. Great inexpensive way to keep a dashcam you like, but suggest soldering to wires vs board and great care when handling delicate wires.

    Locked up

I had a Shadow GT880S on a company car do near same after sitting in the sun over a three day holiday. I'm not sure of the cost of your Papago 350, but for me the job ended, the car went and the cost wasn't worth my effort to pursue. My wife's GT880S is in current service with no issues. Of...

Hard Wire Install - AM Radio Static

I had FM interference with a rear mounted GS6000. Apparently, it was too close to the integrated antenna. Your difficulty may be created by the kit's proximity to your radio or antenna wire. Maybe a simple aluminum foil cover will be enough to correct the issue. I don't advocate using after...

Issues hardwiring dash cam to fuse box

I suggest tossing the EnjoyGadgets kit and use the fuse tap with a loose 12V socket and the provided cord secured with nylon ties. Extend the socket's ground directly to the chassis and avoid piggybacking on other ground wires. Then check the power across the socket under all operating...

problems with 2 dashcam. pls help mee

I'm not familiar with your unit. The provided instruction on all four makes I've owned are lacking and only through trial & error and hours of playing with buttons did I resolve issues. If your unit has a battery, I suggest you give it a good overnight soaking charge. The batteries in my...

New to dash cams and having some ideas.

I suggest you don't go to extremes to hide your dashcam. Unless you're up close, they don't stand out. When navigating traffic by car, motorcycle, bike or foot, people don't look to that detail. For that matter, the greatest danger to motorcyclists is other driver's that just don't see them...

    To GPS or not GPS

I inadvertently selected the non-gps version and later found no amount of additional options or modules could add GPS. The difference was five bucks. The only solution was to buy another dashcam. You don't need to use it, but since the cost difference isn't worth the time to deliberate, you may...

    I got wrecked.....

After 25 years with Allstate and thinking I had prime insurance, a deer hit on my one week old car had me calling the state insurance board to determine my real coverage. I took my car to an independent repair shop instead of their network. Their first estimate covered only materials and they...

12 month warranty is up... What then?

How's that Armageddon quote go? "You know we're sitting on four million pounds of fuel, one nuclear weapon and a thing that has 270,000 moving parts built by the lowest bidder. Makes you feel good, doesn't it?"

12 month warranty is up... What then?

The best day with my first dashcam was when I tossed it in the can. That one cost as much as the next three. The next cam I accidentally selected the model with no GPS. It had a proprietary usb connection on the base and often lost connection at the mount. The 170 degree angle was also too...

    A119 Keeps Restarting

Sounds like an electrical connection issue. The temperature may be causing stuff to expand and move. The usb connection may be loose and subject to expansion. The mating of the GPS and dashcam may be loose. I've had inexpensive cables that flexing and temperature expansion/contraction created...

    Peculiar Cam Behaviour

I once cut into a USB cable for repurpose and needed a magnifying glass to see the few strands of copper that passed as a wire. Trouble is you can expect that from a one-dollar cable; but, just because you pay ten bucks, doesn't mean you'll get any better. For this reason I advocate using an...

    Broken / corrupt files

Are the corrupt files the last ones on the trip? After a few years my hard wired Shadow Tec GT680W's battery couldn't hold a charge enough to close out a file after pulling the key, which resulted in corrupted files and trashed SD card. I wasn't unhappy because it served me well. Because I...

One BMW taken off the road (temporarily) Maine

Fortunately for him he didn't pull that stunt in his home state. Fines will chase you from one state to another, but points often don't. For PA, that speed would likely loose your driving privileges no matter the posted limit.

Hard Wired Dash Cam Turns off when car at a stop

How do you have it grounded? I thought I could piggy back on the dome light ground, but then found the computer uses both wires to control the dome light. If you didn't ground directly to the chassis, I suggest you do.

    Can't download pics!

My android phone doesn't support OTG (On The Go) connections. It can connect to a computer, but not to a camera, memory card or similar device. I pull the card and use it on the computer with a micro to standard SD adapter. I also have a micro SD to USB adapter that came with a shadow tech cam.
