Just a note I'm in a similar situation. Shipped with 20140116 firmware, my hardware is GPS+External Card. Not yet seen anywhere to download that firmware, only 20140115. That said, I've never had any issues with this firmware and the grass may not be greener on the other side.

I use OTG Disk Explorer Pro on my Nexus 5 with a Meenova OTG MicroSD reader. The .mov files can play using the built in software, no need for extra software. There should be no limit on SD card size as long as your dash cam supports that size.

It works, the basics work pretty well. What I've noticed however is that the file grouping doesn't work properly at all. It's only grouping half of certain journeys; Sometimes it's including the final clip of the previous journey in the next journey; Other times it's not grouping clips at all...

Registrator viewer on Windows has a feature when playing back a journey, it will group all the files together from that trip (I guess it looks at the time stamps?) and the map and graphs then reflect the full journey - as opposed only showing the info for each clip.

Only just seen this - works pretty well as a beta! Hopefully see a few additions such as grouping single journeys together - is that planned for a future release?
